125:
Spratley 24/25
Beric Jordan 26-29? (He wrestles 113 right now in high school I think so a true 125 it seems)

133:
Fix 24
Hughes 25-28?
Spratley 26-27?

Adding Spratley definitely a boost for this year but complicated the weights a little when (IF) everyone arrives. Beric Jordan is real good and Hughes is legit. Honestly not sure how this plays out come '26

141:
Alvarez I think only has one year left unless maybe a Covid year? So 24?
Young RS 24 then 25/26
Could see Hughes here maybe at some point I guess

149: You got it with Williams, but I think the only real backup here is Travis right now.

157: We need someone here. Right now you have someone wrestling up too much or someone cutting too much it feels like.

165: Olenjik then who? Then yes we can only hope for Lockett as a true freshman for 26 championship

174: Where did the Plott RS stuff come from? Ive seen it multiple times on different sites, but why? I honestly wouldn't have for Wittlake to move on...had a good career and happy for him but not sure I wanna sit Plott for a year just for him to cut back down.

184: Thompson should win this one. Haas has a lot of experience on him but don't think he can hang. Hope Thompson can go 4 straight here

197: Surber is still trending up IMO. I think this is his for 2 more years. Then I think its Heeg. Not sure where I see Robb at.

Heavy: Its Carroll lol no doubt

Olenjik was a good pick up but we really need one more there at 157/165

would to see you guys pick up Herrera. Out of high school, I thought he was going to transition really well. Really good on top.

So assuming a line up of: Spratley, Fix, Alvarez, Williams, ???, Olenjik, Plott, Thompson, Surber, Carroll.

And also assuming no regressions at all, and hopefully a bit of improvement, 50 team points doesn't seem unreasonable. That would likely puts us back in the top 10. For as much of grumpy old man that I can be from time to time, I do think this might be a bit of a rebound year and maybe, just maybe, reverse course for us. I know, I know... off season hopium and all that, but here's to not souring on the season unless it sours itself!

If you're curious about my totally non-scientific and completely arbitrary method of getting to 50 team points, here's how I got there:
Assume 4 of the following 6 AA, with an average of 10 points: Spratley, Fix, Alvarez, Olenjik, Plott, Carroll - 40 pts.
Assume between Williams, Thompson, Surber, and the two above who didn't AA, average 2 pts each. - 10 pts.

Not where we would want to be for sure, but it would be a marked improvement over last year, and a definitely a step in the right direction.

Here's to hoping!

If there's one thing we've learned from the last couple years and current portal its that nothing matters beyond the current or upcoming year's lineup. Look at what's going on with Iowa's.
Too true. But we need stuff to talk about haha

That’s fair. I just don’t see anywhere for him so put him there. I know he was 200 at the open.

Explain this? Spratley at 125 and Hughes at 133 for these stretches? How does beric jordan play into this?

Ya but that seems far off right now.
He’s 16 and a sophomore in high school

I am responding to your comment about Lockett being 174. He’s only going to be a junior and Beric Jordan Wrestled in the, State, freestyle and Greco championships this weekend at 132
ahh well the question was about Jordan, so you’re thinking Jordan goes 133 then? That gives a minimum of 3 years overlap with Hughes or do you think one of them moves up to 141 in 25?

Why do they call it "under 17" if he'll be competing there at age 17? Or does the U stand for something different?
You need to be under 17 at a certain date to be considered U17. If you turn 17 after that date you're still considered U17.

We will have to see I’m just telling you there not moving up.everyone can’t start all 4 years ask Facundo

Next weekend they have a 20 and under and a 23 and under National Tournament. Wrestling will be Sprately at 57, Hughes at 61, Williams at 70, Heeg at 79 ( much smaller than high school maybe a 174), Thompson at 86, and Carroll at HWT in the Under 20. In the under 23 we have Sheets and Manibog at 70, Plott at 79, Surber and Haas at 92 and Doucette at HWT. These are the Cowboys I noticed that have signed up. Carroll is automatically in the finals since he won that last National Tournament.

Good to see so many guys wrestling in the off season, we haven't had that recently. Wonder how tough a cut it is for Heeg to make 79? That's probably the weight he'll need to be at to make the lineup.

I don't know about everyone else but I love looking at a lineup and literally not knowing what the heck I'm going to get from any weight class. Every dual is a mystery.

In their early lineup look, Flo has Wittlake still at 184. Anyone have an update on that? Thought we all had believed he was done.

Thoughts on 184? Thompson slot in there right away? Would’ve thought Haas would be trying but he just was 92kg at the open this year.
