New client just showed up to drop off his cat due to eye discharge. My employee went outside to collect the cat and get a medical history from the client. Twenty-five minutes later (and, no, I am not exaggerating), my Practice Manager went outside to rescue my other employee from a lecture on the greatness of Trump and the evils of the liberal Democrats. Per my employee, he just started talking about those topics for no apparent reason. She was not even able to get the pertinent information about his cat out of him. She was too nice to tell him that she had work to do and was not interested in a political discussion.

I have a big problem with people who think it is OK to force their views (be they political, religious, or anything else) on a random stranger who has given them no indication that they are interested in said discourse.

Don't be that guy (or girl). Respect others' right to keep their beliefs to themselves until they give you some indication that they are interested in discussing a topic that you are passionate about.

I have a feeling if the old gent had been talking up killing babies and the future of the great socialist/communist party you would have had no issues.

Sounds like a peach.

Do you feel the same about CHAD/CHOP, people protesting and and shutting down highways? Just curious how you draw the line. Or, do you only care about "fairness" issues when they directly impact you? Maybe if MSM did not bombard people non-stop with BLM/Protests/Tearing down statutes, etc... People who feel their voices are being silenced would not feel the need to speak up. Sorry, you do not get to have free speech go in one direction only. Sucks when it is an inconvenience for you. Better hope an AA does not get shot in the parking lot of your clinic or your clinic will be burned down to the ground.

You are comparing apples to hand grenades.

Fine. Speak up all you want. But, do so in an appropriate setting. Get on social media and have a political discussion. Have a discussion with a friend/family member who cares about you and your opinions. Attend a political rally and chop it up. Find a local/virtual political organization that gets together to have political discussion/debates.

Better hope an AA does not get shot in the parking lot of your clinic or your clinic will be burned down to the ground.

Overly dramatic thought of the day.

Just sounds like a centered, well adjusted fellow that's venting a bit over the dumpster fire this country has become.

I wouldn't take it as a personal affront.
Millions of people feel the same way.

This is how most of us have felt the past 2 months just turning on the nightly news, so welcome to the club.

Fire the client, ban him from the premises, and don’t take any of his deplorable money. Problem solved.

So you want us all to read about your opinions?

And that customer is just wanting to spread some love. Why do you hate information you disagree with?

Would have posted the same thing had he been a Rabbi trying to convert my employee to Judaism, or a Democrat ragging on Trump.

Clearly you already are "that guy". It must suck to be in your radius.

Perhaps your employee welcomed the conversation with the polite Trump supporter, but just told you she didn't know how to cut him off. And, perhaps, she provided this explanation to you--a known never Trumper--because she was keenly aware of your limited capacity to appreciate the validity of the polite Trump supporter's statements and the aggressive nature for which you are known to denounce any and all Trumphilic concepts.

Notwithstanding the fact that the foregoing is the most probable and legitimate explanation, she will likely never admit as much and even go so far as to deny it out of fear of reprisal from her employer for her enlightened perspective.

I'm not familiar with you, nevertheless, I like your assessment.
Weigh in more often.
The libs are overrunning this berg.

Bwahaha!

Nice try. Other employees were moving in and out of the building and eavesdropping on the conversation, throughout. She would have no reason to lie to me, as she knows that I am very easy going and believe in letting people live their lives without penalty/persecution (as long as they stay within the law).

Dude, it's a fvckin' cat. SMH. And yes, I would tell him to take his shyt elsewhere. Anyone with the wherewithal to spontaneously bring up politics can't be in too much of a life threatening situation. Are you really that limp?

Do you own your own business? Telling him to eff off could be potentially very bad for business. My clients have to really deserve to be fired before I will consider it. One pissed off client can take to SM and really have an effect on my bottom line. I don't even fire clients when they show up wearing Sooner gear.
