She's not very bright. It is kind of sad. I think it is a mis-characterization to call her the bright shining star for the Dems, though. I don't see the party pushing her into the spotlight or giving her any kind of preferential treatment.
With that said, there are plenty of dumb Republicans in office right now. DJT says/tweets really stupid things almost daily. Did you hear the one about the government of Finland implementing a program to rake up all the leaves in the forest to prevent wildfires? That was a doozy.

I think the mocking more has to do w her crazy eyes, but, at the end of the day, I don’t think anyone could argue that she’s generally pretty attractive. Also, “not very bright” is probably unfair. I’m sure she’s pretty smart, just isn’t great at public speaking/thinking on her feet.
