If 50 Venezuelan illegal immigrants had made their way to Marthas Vineyard on their own, not flown there by a southern Republican governor, just showed up one afternoon and expressed gratitude that MV has declared itself to be a sanctuary landing spot for people like them, saying “here we are, please house and clothe and educate us in the sanctuary spirit” do you think the reaction by the left wing elite citizens residing there would have been different than their reaction because DeSantis pulled a publicity stunt on them? Would those 50 have been hustled off the island in less than 48 hours? i think our leftist friends might have the most insight in how their political peers would have reacted, so the question is aimed mainly at them. But it is open for everybody to opine.
