Goes back to the difficulties immigrants from these certain regions have had assimilating into western society. Odd that there are those in the West who still want to bring them here in mass instead of finding places which better suit their culture, core beliefs and religious philosophies. These issues along with terrorist attacks are only going to get worse as you increase the potential terrorist pool. I assume Europe has tried to assist in the transition into western culture? I would argue they need to find a different approach.

An immigrant ban would obvious help long term as you wouldn't have the second generation immigrants from these areas to be radicalized. I see no solutions in the foreseable future. Europe has a problem on their hands and it isn't going anywhere.

I think you are being a bit naive to assume that they would have an easier time if they were just moved to some other middle eastern (or African Muslim) country. Different sects of Islam seem to hate each other as much, or more than tensions between Muslims/Christians. In addition, those areas are more prone to famine and are less economically stable. Cramming a bunch of refugees into those areas is a recipe for disaster.

I'm not saying the US should take more refugees. Just saying that your proposal doesn't seem like a realistic answer to the refugee issue.
