Capitol Building "Protests"

The trespassers (or whatever you wanna call them) had guns, zip ties, were discussing revolution on social media, were coordinated, and they also found pipe bombs outside the capitol. Multiple cops were injured, a few seriously. There's also tons of top secret intelligence and military information in Congress.

And all of this could have been avoided if they simply let people go through security and yell themselves silly on capital grounds as is their right.

Same is true for the brownshirts that took a military stance against BLM protests.

This happens because our leaders think they are above criticism.

I do find it interesting. They found 2 pipe bombs, a long-rifle in a cooler, and some hand guns in some cars, yet none seemed to be in anyone's possession. In fact, the story I read had to call out finding a stun-gun in a woman's purse (OMG!). Outside the bombs (which I'll be very curious what comes of that story because its not gotten near enough actual play), it feels like there were very few weapons given the crowd size, and the only shooting that occurred looks to have been by a trigger-happy security guard.

But I'll hold judgement overall until I hear some more facts regarding the weapons "found".

Social media from parler is being widely distributed that shows they were planning this. They had it worked out who would go in where. And why are they bringing zip ties and guns if they just want to yell?

Blaming everyone but the people that did it?

Who has suggested they're above criticism? Our leaders go on tv and criticize each other all the time. They pay media companies to criticize each other. They raise money to publish criticisms against each other.

I disagree. We can debate where the societal lines are, but precedent matters in all things. I don't care if you or shitstain condemned the summer violence. The party you support and its media accomplices didn't. Once the line was moved, it never moves back.

And I'm not justifying it. Its crap. But somehow you think the crap started yesterday, while most of us on this forum have been complaining about the stench of violence for months.

LOL.

I don't support Democrats nor the media accomplices.

Aix:

I'm not justifying it....I'm just saying it's not that big a deal because other people claimed ANTIFA's violence wasn't that big a deal and I'm proclaiming that the line has moved and never moves back.

Such nonsense.

Where did they have guns? I have heard they found guns in the cars of the protestors, but I have not read a story that mentioned guns in the possession of any of the 50 people arrested for trespassing. Got a link?

Sorry JD. If you don't understand how societal norms shift based on precedent, then you are dumber than I thought you were.

Co-signed.

There is a public viewing gallery.

Extensive weapons checks and public let in until the gallery is full....first come first serve.

Then everybody else, back the eff up.

Not at all. People are accountable for their own actions. It's always down to them.

That doesn't mean that Congress did not make horrible decisions.

If you think you are the one that gets to unilaterally declare that societal norms have shifted to benefit or minimize your guys misconduct.....you are a ****ing idiot.

Especially when you and your guys were in "looting starts, shooting starts" mode six months ago and are declaring the societal norms have conveniently shifted since then.

Well.... okay, but I can't figure out what horrible decisions has to do with looting the Capitol. Refs make bad decisions but nobody attacks them. Judges. Teachers. Nurses. Coaches. Cops. Lawyers. Internet moderators. Careful how we start saying horrible decisions justifies that stuff.

I agree, and if they had shot all those burn, looters, and murderers earlier this year in all these Lib cities, no one would ever of thought about doing this. Hell, Portland had a portion of a city held hostage and rapes and murders happened. Entire Police precinct taken over and destroyed. Businesses destroyed. Life work destroyed. Yep, equal justice and swift. Problem solved. Got no problem shooting all these people that burn, loot, destroy property, and assault people. Were you outraged when people attacked McConnel’s home?
One is the capitol. Moron

So we have gone from these people are patriots to they are actually ANTIFA staged as Trump supporters? So which one is it?

I do agree w those saying we didn’t get here just bc Trump. It’s also due to people on the left that say “Sorry Lindsay Graham, you don’t get your soul back” after his speech last night. The constant down talking from the left and sh!t stirring from our media. The dishonesty from our leadership. Doesn’t excuse what happened yesterday, but let’s not act this was ALL on Trump. That kind of thinking got us here in the first place.
It was the rights fault.. They cause the divide.

I'll defend anyone protecting property against rioters and looters. Did it this past summer and again yesterday.

As opposed to a federal courthouse or a police precinct. I guess you believe only politicians deserve riot protection.
The capitol must NEVER FALL. I know you approve of the overthrow, trumplicans of course do. but it is different from ANYWHERE else. As for any crimes before, all should be prosecuted to the max. As for the insurgents, kill them. All of them. Be they left, right, or center. Any body breaching the wall.

I just don't think they were there to yell.

"Protesters must not stop and continue the fight until we win" - Heels Up Harris, August 2020

Bunch of insane fvcking lying hypocrites on this board.
I'd love for you to show me where Trump said anything that should even be closely construed to instigating a riot? I'll patiently wait.

This is the exact mindset the people that rushed the capital yesterday. The problem is that you both think each other is the traitor.

The Oklahoma Congressman (seen below in white):

Was on TV last night and this morning, he was helping to keep another breach from happening. He said you can not allow 2 breaches on both sides of you and they already had breached one area, they knew if another breach happened it was over because they could be circled and they could not protect themselves.

He said they were about to come thru the door and as tragic as it was, the shooting saved lives because once a shot was fired they turned back. He said it was tragic one life was lost, but it saved other lives. He was there when the shooting happened, she was behind the door and they could not allow another breach.

I believe the rioters this past year getting to have their way for the most part empowered people and gave them a false sense of security. People literally lost their mind, they probably thought this was a protest and got wrapped up in the mob mentality, it is the only way you can explain a women with that background behaving like she did. She was not armed, she was not thinking, and unfortunately as tragic the loss of life was, I can defend the action of security and justify the taking of a life.

This has been building for over 4 years. At Trump's inauguration last year many Dems skipped it and protested, they said he was not their Prez and he would be impeached.

The rhetoric by the media and the opposing sides has only amped up for over 4 years.

Ask yourself this question, prior to this past election night, what candidate in the United States could gain one single vote by BOTH denouncing the violence of BLM/Anitifa/Proud Boys/White Supremacists? That is how divided we are.

Unfortunately, the rhetoric last night and today from both sides of the aisle is not helping as much as it could, political opportunity is still at the fore front of both parties.

All of us got what we sowed. Trump came in with venom and hate spewed at him from day one, he leaves with venom and hate spewed back. None of it right, none of it justified.

I am back to where I was in 2008, all the MFers need to go, all of them.
The rhetoric was Trumps not the left. The lies you right wingers push is the problem.

I did not breach the wall. I was there 8 weeks ago and saw the warnings, I did not even think of climbing the wall. That is the difference, I accept my responsibilities, the right lies and says the left is to blame for the right's crimes. So, the insurgents{ right wingers) should have been shot as soon as they began climbing the inside wall. All protesters outside should be commended and protected. That is where it is legal. They have a right to protest not terrorize.

Maga doing what MAGA does best. Wish they would try to do something productive or constructive for a change.
Well, you have some Antifa in there too. Btw, I love how you libs/socialist called all the rioting, looting, burning, and murder during the summer, mostly peaceful protest and never took a stand until now.

Not protesters, INVADERS, INSURGENTS, or TERRORISTS. The protesters remained outside the wall.

Execution without due process. Extremely American of you.

Again. It is not a capital crime to protest inside the capital. Happens every day and much of it is organized by members of Congress.

Ah yes. We must protect our sacred noblemen at all costs, right pleb?

Actually, I tried it when I was in high school. 5th grade girls tournament. A father was so mad, he asked me outside during the game. A couple of my teammates tried to take him up on his offer and his rage subsided a little. If they weren't there I'm pretty sure he was mad enough to try something. I was maybe the worst referee in history and I've always had a degree of sympathy for the refs every since.

I have no particular affection for W, so cool and good.

Some of what you saw during their civil war was probably (I don’t have actually confirmation on this) the remnants.
