You're fixated on gun shows because that's the lefty narrative, but the same private seller transactions could take place in the parking lot of the Kid's Castle Preschool and Daycare just a few blocks away from where you live. And they still wouldn't require a background check because the law doesn't require it. And if the buyer happens to be a felon, it's still against the law for him/her to be in possession of the firearm he/she just bought.

If Congress can't get an immigration deal done by the deadline, yep, I'm in favor of their deportation. The law is the law and the President can't write the law. There is no loophole for people illegally brought to this country as minors.

Never said they haven't. They can also steal a gun from your house. They can buy one from their drug dealer. They can steal one out of a car. A gun show isn't their only option. But that point aside, they don't get to possess it legally because they bought it from a private seller at a gun show. That WOULD be a loophole. The seller isn't required by law to do a background check and the criminal who bought it isn't able to legally possess it.
When they steal guns do they get background checks done before they steal them? No? Well, is that a loophole?

The gun show portion is a complete smokescreen intended to make idiots think it is a huge deal (they got you). The actual law, as it is intended (no loophole) doesn’t require private sellers to conduct background checks. There is no fix...you would have to require private sellers to perform and report results of background checks. This is logistically impossible. The FBI ****s up the current system. They cannot handle anything additional.

OK, Clinton, let's solve this. Let's change the law to require that a private seller has to obtain a background check on the buyer. A couple of questions for you as we work this out. How does anyone know I have a gun to sell? How does anyone know I intend to sell it? How does anyone know that I decided to sell it without getting a background check?
About those gun shows. OK, let's make it illegal for private sellers to sell their guns at gun shows. Screw even bothering with the background check thing. It's just not legal for a private seller to do. How do we regulate a transaction that only 2 people know about that happens in the driveway of your house? Are we going to have the ATF setup random sting operations where they case out neighborhood looking for gun transactions and verifying that background checks are being done?
Those are the difficulties I see ahead of us. Let me hear your thoughts on how we can easily address these things.

So how big of an impact do you think requiring a private seller to get a gun show only seller's license is going to have? I can simply decide to not go that route and sell my guns in other venues to the same people that would buy them at the gun show. Doesn't seem to remedy anything since a gun show isn't the only place private gun sales can take place.
