It may not be the 1930s any longer, but the average FDA approval time for new drugs is currently 12 years. Let's not pretend that our government and medical research capability suddenly got better and more efficient overnight, yet this was approved in under 8 months. I'm sorry if 1600% improvement in approval time by the government doesn't make some people think its rushed and potentially unsafe.
