800,000 is nothing, about 1/4 of the popular vote margin for Clinton/Trump. Most put the attendance at around 350,000.

There are endless beloved figures who have said witty quotes (and are often praised), and have also said controversial things. (Like Muhammed Ali -- he gets many passes)
