Predictions for tonight's GOT?

BJ, can't speak for your BiL, but when Davos set Gendry afloat in a small boat he didn't know how to row, I thought to myself, "There's a guy they want us to forget about but who's going to show back up when we least expect it."

I thought of him while trying to remember someone, ANYone to rescue Jon besides LF.

Also, after downing Rickon, Ramsey surprised me by not taking out Jon and saying, "You wanted one-on-one combat, well, there it is."

Anyone else get a little Clarice/Lecter vibe from the Sansa/Ramsey scene?

What is "BiL"?
My guess is that when HBO sent Gendry off in a boat, 4 years ago, they weren't sure where, when, or if he would reenter the show. At this point, I think we will finish the series not knowing what happened to him after he drifted off in that little rowboat. There is no reason to reintroduce him, unless it has something to do with a reunion with Arya. Even that would seem like a waste of screen time.

I was thinking there was at least a possibility that Howland Reed showed up. I wonder if he will now to pay his respects to the new Starks in Winterfell.

some of yall have an unhealthy obsession with the whole wolf thing

I don't have an obsession but at the beginning of the series they were made out to be incredibly important. Robb's dire wolf participated in several battles and made a huge difference. Snow's was everywhere and then all of a sudden just disappears for no reason.

It has to be the CGI budget there is no other explanation because as we all know they have had no problem killing off the wolves.

I have never thought they were a huge part of the plot at all... just big dogs; some died, some didn't. The viewer put the significance on them, not the show.

Same sort of thing when some of y'all wigged out about Dany just getting dropped off by her dragon and it flying away; way more than you made it out to be.

Stop trying to Star Trek GOT, let it Star Wars.

I'm guessing you haven't read the books. Like it or not, that has an effect on how some of us view the show.

Since you brought up Dany and Drogon. I wonder how she controls him? Does he read her mind? How did he know to just show up at the right time when she was confronting the Slave Masters last night? Sure, your answer can be "Don't overthink it, it is a show about Dragons and guys who die then come back to life". My response would be that I don't have to know all of the details to enjoy the show, but there are things that can be done to make it better, IMO. If Tyrion were to ask her, "How does Drogon know what you want him to do?" Dani might say, "I have no idea. We definitely share some kind of connection. I'm not sure that he can read my mind, but I get the impression that he can sense my moods". Now, that doesn't really tell us much of anything, but it at least establishes some type of framework to explain how he knows when to arrive by her side and where to go when she is on his back.

She he gave him a verbal command to start roasting sailors.

I agree the writers could give everyone a hand when they cut corners to shut this thing down. Give us a little credit. Throw us a line here and there!

Yes. Drakaris. Same command she used when the dragons were young and she commanded them to roast the Warlocks. So, if she has to command him to burn something, how does he he know to show up just at the right time to intimidate the Slave Masters?

Your point is well taken, BJ. Unfortunately, I imagine we are in for more head-scratching moments over the next two seasons as the show runners try to tie up all the loose ends between GRRM, HBO, fans of both and themselves.

Even fantasy writing has to "make sense."

It's a testament to Martin's solid writing, which, like an aircraft carrier under full steam, is very, very difficult to bring to a complete stop without an owner's manual.

Unless, of course, you take into account the wolves. Then they make everything make sense.

Just watched it. Yet another episode where nothing happens.

Incredible, Dani finally takes a huge step forward. Everything about the battle was great. That scene when the calvarys first met behind Jon was incredible. I don't mind the wolf not being there, it would have died for sure in a huge battle. Robs fought a lot in the book, but it sounded like he was used in guerrilla style battles.

I thought for sure Sansa was going to chase down Ramsey when he ran. Very sure she is pregnant.

Where Dani lands will be interesting. Pyke is way out of the way, not that the show ever cares about distances. I think they crush
Euron in the narrow sea on the way and land somewhere in the North, maybe Dragon stone? Is anyone left there?

You really should watch the video I linked above.

I don't care about him not being there. I just think they should provide the viewer with a reasonable answer as to why he is not there. I am sure that you would have taken him along if you were Jon.

Very sure she is pregnant.

They definitely planted the seed (so to speak). Not sure what that adds to the story, though. Especially if they are really planning to tie things up in 14 more episodes.

Yeah..I was looking at the map. It makes zero sense for them to go from Mereen to the Iron Islands. Which is why I think they will do that. It seems to me that the only reason to have Yara/Theon involved with bringing Dani across the sea would be to give us a logical reason for her to go from Mereen to the Iron Islands. They could have left the Greyjoys out of this episode and just told us that the Masters had enough ships to transport them across the narrow sea.

I'm not saying there is not any way Sansa is pregnant but what has happened that has actually made people think that is a thing?

Also, I know if you actually think about time in this show things can fall apart but timing wise it doesn't make a lot of sense either.

Don't know the exact quote, but Ramsay said something along the lines of "I am a part of you now and always will be". It may or may not have been hinting at her being knocked up. But, due to the show entering wind down mode, I will be a bit surprised if she is. It would seem to be a tangential story line that takes time away from other more important items that need to come to fruition.

Balls of steel to stand in front of all of those real horses.

So as it stands now, the sand snakes are running Dorne, Sansa is lady of Winterfell (although Jon will probably be running things), Yara has eyes on the Salt Throne, and of course Dany has eyes on the Iron Throne. For a show that has taken flack over all the raping, things are definitely moving in a more positive direction for all the women.

I took the "always a part of you" as a comment on Sansa's cruelty. Ramsay's brutality of Sansa changed her forever and unlocked a cold, cruel part of her. Even after his death Sansa will never be free of Ramsay.

Also, how would Ramsay know she is pregnant?

While I am certain there will end up being 3 dragon riders in ASOIAF, I am not sure we will get that in GOT. In Sunday's episode, Dani rode Drogon, and (somehow) directed him to fly over to one of the ships. She said "Dracaris" and he bombarded the ship with flames. The other 2 dragons played monkey see...monkey do and followed suit. So, it is possible that Dani will be able to control all 3 dragons. We shall see.

I noticed the same, but I still think we see 3 riders. I'm betting on Tyrion for one. No clue if he is a Targ, but we've seen he can communicate with them, and as someone else on the board pointed out, he has a talent for creating saddles for himself. Also, he's already right there, and what will he be doing in Westerose during the wars? I'm betting Jon leads armies on the ground, so not sure about the 3rd.

I would probably lean toward 3 riders also. Or, maybe 1 of the dragons dies before too long and we end up with only 2. However, with HBO saying they are in wrap up mode, it stands to reason that some of the planned story lines will end up being trimmed, and the whole "dragon has 3 heads" could fall victim to that.

To go back to my earlier question about Howland Reed, it seems like Jon and Meera are the easiest secret Targaryens to explain.

Bran shows up and has a vision of Tower of Joy, and then Howland Reed shows up and says, "Yep, these two are twins of Rhaegar and Lyanna."

Other than a Bran vision who would know and back up that Tyrion is a Targaryen? Is he just supposed to get on a dragon and everyone agree that must be what it means?

Also, Meera as the other one matches up the current riders to the historical ones, 1 male and two females.
