Any DEFENSE of Acosta, post the February 21, 2019 Federal Court decision is disgusting. He should have been fired on a near immediate basis, when it was discovered he had broken US Law to grant Epstein a plea bargain.
This is a lot like Baylor and Penn State where people were denying that had knowledge, then it turned out that they had known for years about the sleazy goings on and cover-up of same.
The clear message I'm seeing, is that Acosta is/was "dirty" and the only motivation he had for going so easy on Epstein was an improper/illegal one.

I for one won't stick my neck out for Acosta (or anyone named Acosta for that matter), but at some point you have to realize this wasn't this guy's unilateral decision. Nobody gets the deal Epstein got without some powerful string pulling, networking and phone calls from someone big to someone else big. Couldn't care less if this guy loses his job. Hell he probably should. But no way is he the top of this corruption.
I never had a doubt. One of two scenarios (or both). Epstein bought the right guys to get leniency, or Epstein has pics/videos of powerful people that got him the sweetheart deal.
He probably has the ability to blackmail plenty of powerful people. That might explain why he had the incriminating CDs in his safe. I won't be surprised if we find out that a bunch of famous/wealthy people were participating in Epstein's human trafficking/rapes of underage girls.
I would be beyond shocked if we don't find photos and video of all kinds of disgusting things in his possession of all kinds of powerful people in politics and entertainment. All kinds.
I haven't shared some of the things I've heard he would have video of because you would break out the conspiracy theory stick on me, but if 1/10th of it is true - it would change the way Americans look at their leadership and their entertainment icons. This thread got political - but believe me, other than being tired of predictable "Trump's good friend" nonsense, I hope the fall of Epstein takes out scumbags of every stripe.
The only question I have is if one of those guys has enough power to keep the information from becoming public knowledge.

I would've agreed with this a week ago. But now that this guy is charged, I think all bets are off.
It is rumored that Epstein's lawyer has made a proffer to the prosecutors: Epstein will agree to cooperate with the investigation, including giving up the names of individuals that paid for activities with underage girls in exchange for a maximum sentence not to exceed 5 years.
If true, that proffer sounds like good news. Ironic good news: what a friend Jeffrey Epstein turned out to be! Then I grasped the wiggle phrase: “individuals that paid.” That would not be Donald Trump or Bill Clinton or a great many other bold-facers who flew on Epstein’s plane — it was known as the “Lolita Express” — or visited his homes.
If true, another round of great lawyering may mean that no one in New York society will be publicly shamed. Because the friends of Jeffrey Epstein are rich. And the rich are famously cheap. Pay for sex in a friend’s house? They’d never. And their host would never ask. The girls were just a perk.

The interview I heard on npr is that Epstein’s lawyers went elbow deep into the background of every person involved in the prosecution to find leverage. With unlimited resources I assume they found some.

Tip of the iceberg. This is going to become the biggest scandal in American history before it’s done. It will tie to NXIVM and yes - the general details surrounding pizzagate. There will be an occult angle. There will be photos and videos of famous powerful people. There is a reason “deepfake” videos are a common story lately. I have zero faith this goes any further than Epstein being a sacrificial lamb. Don't trust the DOJ. Loaded with swamp monsters.
Exhibit #1, Ghislaine Maxwell one of Epstein's primary enablers (procurer of young girls) and a very well connected socialite has never been charged wiith anything.
