he has no idea whether racism was a factor in people being shitty trigger happy douchebag cops. Our leadership seems intent upon pouring gas on manufactured racial issues. Why?

Lastly,

Do we as "the heard" have an obligation to start shaming or ostracizing those who enable/elect leaders who perpetuate or exacerbate this?

Unfortunately, this is Obama's legacy. He reversed the trend of improving racial relations. He, his administration, and many in the party leverage inflaming racial issues for political purposes.

Peace and goodwill will begin taking hold again after Obama is no longer occupying the White House.
I hope you're correct but this mandates that Hildebitch doesn't get elected. If she does, we'll see much more like this and her response will be to take away everyone's guns...except for those who perpetrate these despicable acts.

Were things better pre-2009, or has the proliferation of video cameras on phones and social media just given these things wider exposure than they otherwise would have?

Flag on the post. Intellectually dishonest anecdotal example, 07. 10 yard penalty. Replay 3rd down.
You don't think the first example of cheap cameras catching police brutality is relevant to a discussion on whether brutality or cameras are increasing?

Rodney King should be allowed to be drunk in public and resist arrest.

Your point as to trends is an example of one person? If you were half as smart as you think you are you would be a conservative.
