From 2003 to 2013 my wife and I took our 3-boys to the Houston ballet to see The Nutcracker. Full coat & tie, the first 2-years were a chore for them. After that, they would bug us beginning at Halloween to see if we had tickets yet. They learned a little about culture & society and we learned a lot about them.

All this while having a grand time. Hint if you've not been. The dancing Russians and little Tim chasing his sister with the pop gun. The boys' second favorite part was intermission and all that implied.

If you have not done it yet, do it once at least. Do it where there is a good troup.
