I think you are missing the point. Per the logic of several posters on this board (or lack of logic is more like it) because of what Hamas militants did in October the Israeli government now has moral justification to murder as many Palestinians in as gruesome a manner as it chooses as retribution. "As many as it takes" is the number banded about, even if it means the entire Gaza population. And one of the main reasons these posters encourage the slaughter is because they saw on tv that some Palestinians cheered when they saw what Hamas had done, which is prima facie evidence that every Palestinian is a closet member of Hamas and thus deserve no immunity, let the killing begin. Using that logic (or lack thereof) one wonders: since the Israeli government has such moral jusification is it fair to use the same principle and encourage the American government to hunt down and imprison (or murder) anyone who cheered the riot of January 6th, or was present in DC at the time, or is a profssed MAGA/Trump supporter, imprison or kill as many innocents as it takes until the government has caught them all?

What the Palestinians did and have done justifies Israel's actions. You seem to ignore the fact the Palestinians started this and brought the wrath of Israel down on them. If the Palestinians wanted peace they would be peaceful but peace is the last thing on their mind, they want the Jews kicked out of Israel and have it for themselves.

As I said, Clinton, in the minds of some of the posters on this board Palestinian = Hamas and therefore anything the Israeli government does to any Palestinian is justified. The logic is severely twisted, but it is what it is.
If the Palestinians are not Hamas, why does Hamas have the support of the Palestinians? Why do the Palestinians celebrate every time Israelis are killed? Why did they celebrate the October 7th massacre? It's not like Israel forced Hamas on the Palestinians, the Palestinians voted them in and have done nothing to get rid of them.
I fail to see how Palestinian children were/are active supporters of Hamas. They sure didn’t vote for anyone.

Absolutely correct! All Palestinians are Hamas and as such they all deserve to die horrendously painful deaths with mutilated bodies. I saw the video of the Palestinian father searching through the rubble collecting the body parts of his children after they were bombed from above, an arm here, a foot there - you get the picture - and all I could think is those miserable children of Hamas had it coming. And you’re right, Hamas was voted into power about 20 years ago, with full support from Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud Party I might add, and even though nearly half the population of Gaza had not been born yet they still deserve all the horror and pain Israel can inflict. Israel has a right to exist and a right to defend itself by occupying the Gaza Strip. Palestinians do not.

Not all Palestinians have rejected it. The PLO is on record as being for it. You know the PLO, the guys that “run” the West Bank, and look at how honorably Israel has been toward the Palestinians in the West Bank. The Israeli hero, Bibi, is absolutely 100% against it. That’s why he propped up Hamas all these years.
I don’t think Israel should put up with people attacking and killing their families. The point is what Hamas did is unforgivable. But likewise it is not inexplicable. History did not start that day, and you are incredibly naive if you think only Hamas is evil.

I can think of no rational “equivalency response” that is morally appropriate. Having the attitude of “an eye for an eye” (or in Israel’s case 10 eyes for an eye) does not bring an end to the bloodshed and makes no headway toward peace or mutual respect, only prolonged hatred and determination to get even (or in Israel’s case get even ten times over). I asked this a few days ago and no one responded, so let me ask you: let’s say Netanyahu and you get your way and you thoroughly eliminate every active member of Hamas from the face of the earth. Will that bring the peace you seek? Numbers I have seen suggest there are 30,000 members of Hamas, and to date Israel has killed about 2,000 of them with around 20,000 innocent civilians being slaughtered along with them. If those numbers stand up it means about 300,000 innocent civilians will perish as collateral damage when you and Bibi get your way and Hamas is annihilated. Then what? Will peace reign over the region?
The Palestinians did have their own territory free of Israeli occupation and one they alone were free to govern. That ended up with them spending large portions of the substantial amount (Billions) of humanitarian aide they received on weapons, missile manufacturing and a vast network of tunnels they have used to attack Israel. Think about that Dan, instead of using humanitarian aide to help the lives of the Palestinians, they spend their money on building up assets to attack Israel. Yet you wonder why both Israel and Egypt control movement of goods and people in and out of Gaza. SMFH.
