How recent were each of those?

Not sure why anyone is surprised. There is a reason everyone hates the GOP establishment.

They are corporatists who are about nothing deeper than serving their funding.

Having said that, an ACTUAL wall is a good idea 20 years too late.

Not sure why clean coal is a bad idea. Women have been in combat support roles for a long time. They won't be able to meet physical requirements for elite units so I feel like it's already working itself out.

The rest of the list is shit, as party platforms go. The party is dying and needs to be replaced.

Please all of you find the group of people on this board who agree with that. List their names and let's call them out. This is not a republican board. It's an anti liberal board. It's not really THAT much of a complex idea.

There is no reason to be such simpletons. I'm speaking to kev kev and David, I know toon is doing his best to type and stay upright at the same time and syskatine is sticking his dick in a blender. Come on we know the gop sucks for one obvious reason. They couldn't beat the worst president in the world with their platform if they wanted to. Oh wait that already happened. Get off it. the gop sucks you know it we know it.

they believe in limited government only until a voting block that gives money to their causes steps in a blows the morality whistle. It's a joke and they are paying for it, but still don't get it. I hope trump has every old guard republican that has helped liberals keep the border open and drive up the insane debt imprisoned and made to read clintons memoirs. Fvck the gop and if you don't think that is the majority of this board then you can't see past your own nose.

Solid. Would love to see one single poster justify any of the bottom three things on the list.

It's a myth that this is a "republican" "tea party" or "neocon" board. That may be where most of the votes go but mainly because the DNC is just somehow worse on Constitutional issues. I can't think of anyone who is a lame party cheerleader like that punk @CowboyUp is for the DNC.

Gimme a name. Anyone?

I can't read the article because I've used up my max nytimes articles for the month (that better not happen again) but that shit is put together by people who go to the republican convention. Think about that. The Alex Keaton's of the world.

Let's see the dem platform and see exactly what you guys believe...

Such tough. Very Internet. So posture. Wow.

If you all weren't GOP lackies, you'd be casting for Johnson.

a ridiculous position. A vote for anyone but trump is a vote for liberals dominating the Supreme Court for decades. It's not about trump. It's not about praying the gay away. It's about single payer health care and federal police and people in Oklahoma being forced to live under the opinions of the coastal nuts. Maybe that's fine for you im sure there will be bike lanes galore, but I will vote for whatever manifestation is not liberal.

Please, get real people, Tony Perkins wrote most of that. It means nothing except the realization that Republicans need the social conservatives to win so they give them their bones in the platform. It means nothing.

The platform of a party is never followed by the candidates and is nothing more than recommendations.

Check out the Sh!t that Bernie is going to get in the Dem platform. Each candidate will run against the others platform but the candidates will advocate things 180 degrees from their own party platform.

Sorry suck it hannity Jr. the voices of reason have spoken and you are a neocon. Please concede your group thought to the board conscience.

A few notes on Gary Johnson:

- once called the most fiscally conservative governor in the country ("Governor Veto"), record backs it, good and/or bad
- separation of religion and state (Lutheran, doesn't go to church, would not advocate school prayer)
- pot legal
- prostitution legal (only in Nevada? Not sure)
- gay marriage legal
- abolish Department of Education
- abolish Department of Housing and Urban Development
- abolish corporate taxes and IRS, replace with 25 percent consumption tax
- abolish income, capital gains and payroll taxes; replace with fair tax.....

  • In a February 2012 op-ed for The Washington Times, Gary Johnson advocated for the elimination of income, capital gains and payroll taxes. In their place, Johnson said he would implement a "kind of a national sales tax called the Fair-tax." He wrote, "Some think the Fair-tax is regressive, but in fact it’s progressive - taxing the wealthy more than the poor. Fair-tax issues a 'prebate' for families to spend on food, clothing, transportation, medical care or whatever they want to spend it on - it’s their money. Undocumented immigrants will pay their taxes if they want to buy anything. They need a Social Security card to receive a prebate, so the incentive is for immigrants to get themselves on the books as fast as possible."[39]
  • According to the free enterprise advocacy group Club for Growth, Johnson called for reducing the top rate for New Mexico's income tax from 8.5 percent to 8 percent in the 1990s. In 2001, however, he vetoed a bill to reduce this rate from 8.2 percent to 7.7 percent "because it also lowered the dollar amount that the top rate kicked in."[40]

In a February 2012 op-ed for The Washington Times, Gary Johnson said the federal budget should be reduced by 43 percent. He argued that doing so would require "the will and ability to ignore and even fight the special interests that have a vested interest in more and more government spending. Our system is corrupted by special-interest campaign contributions. Crony capitalism permeates our government."[39]

You don't have to sell him. He is nearly ideal. The problem for me as a Libertarian is very simple. The Constitution is in peril. Hillary is certainly going to damage it. Trump might but hopefully won't. Johnson isn't going to win and that normally would not matter to me but this cycle it does.

So she's out. But do I vote principle or strategy? So far, strategy is leading for me.

Why is Johnson not spending his time getting congressmen elected and building a caucus that doesn't have the social wingnut ideas of the tea party? A secular states rights party should be built from the bottom up.

Defensive much? Let's see a critique of idiotic GOP platform causes some of you to rail on for 3 paragraphs defending yourself.

Protesting too much perhaps when a simple uh-huh would do?

Puhlease... If the Republic has survived the Muslim Socialist surely it can survive a middle left cankled crook...
