"god-given, natural rights"

Pinot Noir - decent stuff... But you go right ahead and project your fantasies this way...
Pinot Noir is a very finicky vine and can easily result in a thin acidic plonk. What exactly did you drink, before I decide on your wine tastes? Certain Burgundy houses and you win. A few wineries in the California North and Pacific NW and you win.

Disclaimer-I grow wine grapes and make wine.

You don't have to sell him. He is nearly ideal. The problem for me as a Libertarian is very simple. The Constitution is in peril. Hillary is certainly going to damage it. Trump might but hopefully won't. Johnson isn't going to win and that normally would not matter to me but this cycle it does.

So she's out. But do I vote principle or strategy? So far, strategy is leading for me.

Well technically speaking, your principle vote is also a strategy vote in that you are trying to get a third party "national" status by helping it garner 5% of the popular vote. Another choice in 2020

Oregon - Domaine Droughin tonight... Fantastic ... French family vineyard in Dundee.

Made our own as well for 5 years ... Want to get back to it. Art and science and a real labor of love.... We got grapes from Bishop Creek in Yamhill County Oregon (just down the road).

a ridiculous position. A vote for anyone but trump is a vote for liberals dominating the Supreme Court for decades. It's not about trump. It's not about praying the gay away. It's about single payer health care and federal police and people in Oklahoma being forced to live under the opinions of the coastal nuts. Maybe that's fine for you im sure there will be bike lanes galore, but I will vote for whatever manifestation is not liberal.
Not sure if message board or chatbot

Speaking of women in combat scenarios, when are the Democrats going to introduce legislation to mandate girls registering for Selective Service? It's very hypocritical that we haven't seen it yet after all the victory laps about equal treatment finally coming for women.

Who all on here lives in a state that really matters? 538 rates Oklahoma as the second safest Republican state and 4th safest overall.

Gary Johnson could get a quarter of the vote in Oklahoma, and even if he pulled it all from Trump, which is unlikely, Trump would still win if things are the same as 2012.

It is hard to believe people are so anti-republican when they dutifully pull the lever for them every election.

Exactly. DipStickHarry and the rest of the crew in OK (probably TX, too) could vote for dead Ronald Reagan and Trump is still going to take Oklahoma.

I may yet. Feel very conflicted about this election.

You mentioned principle vs. strategy, and said strategy is winning right now. You're calling a vote for Trump a strategy vote is flawed IMO.

You're voting in Oklahoma.

Trump is getting Oklahoma's electoral votes no matter what you do. So voting for Trump is a strategic error because you will see your first goal accomplished without voting for him and are giving up on accomplishing two goals with a different strategy....voting for Johnson. You get the most bang strategically for your limited resource by voting libertarian.

A vote for Johnson is actually a vote for increased opportunities to elect local libertarian candidates in Oklahoma over the next four years more than anything else. Building the party from the ground up as Harry mentioned.

Do it.

Seriously.

One of the favorite billboards I/we did for Maker's Mark ran in Cali and read: "When you aren't drinking any merlot."

Obviously, we had to edit.

That is such a great movie too. I need to watch it again soon. It's been a while.

Nice wine choice. Awesome to meet a fellow winemaker.

I grow cabernet sauvignon. Hard to grow in Oklahoma though. Disease pressure is stupid and my vines don't like hail. I have a good friend that grows cabernet franc in Kansas. We usually do some kind of blend each year.

I'd love to live near wine country for access to grapes. Outside what I grow, I buy frozen red grape must from CA, WA, and OR. Great quality but the shipping charges are painful.

Had some wine from Zerba Cellars in Oregon a few Yeats ago. Good friends with a nephew of the people that started it. They have a great Cab and Merlot. (This is my contribution to this thread. Time to go see what's up in the women's bathroom.)

I definitely am not too smart to fall for that.

Good listen:
Listening to Freakonomics Radio (How Much Does the President Really Matter? (Rebroadcast))

The U.S. president is often called the "leader of free world." But if you ask an economist or a Constitutional scholar how much the occupant of the Oval Office matters, they won't say much. We look at what the data have to say about measuring leadership, and its impact on the economy and the country.

That's interesting with the report that Trump wanted to turn the reins over to a VP Kasich if he would have accepted.
