I know some of those ladies.I swear Dems think they own the "woman" voting block, when in reality, center and right leaning women are some of the most grounded (and ferocious if need be) supporters and defenders.
I know some of those ladies.
Glad I'm on their side.
They're warriors.
Oh, you youngsters with your Dave Clark Five and Tom Jones. And the good news, they all have a pussy.
Now back to the regular program.
Two things:
Oh, you youngsters with your Dave Clark Five and Tom Jones.
If she runs against him, I’m making a donation to her.
Two things:
1).So it is disingenuous to show the one MAGA lady and pretend like it is an example of the response he got from his constituents.
Looks like she has a few dozen men doing exactly thatDamn, Conservative women are so freaking hot!
Meanwhile, Liberal men enjoy yours.

I was going to say almost the same. I did see a lot of the town hall also. Two things:
1). If you watch the whole town hall meeting you will see numerous times the crowd erupts into applause, many people standing up to show their support. So it is disingenuous to show the one MAGA lady and pretend like it is an example of the response he got from his constituents.
2). It is preposterous for you to call him a coward. Publicly he made a principled stand that is counter to the Republican playbook. It may very well cost him his seat in the next election considering the godlike admiration so many Republicans have for DJT. Amash is swimming against a riptide, bringing him condemnation across the Republican spectrum. That is hardly the action of a coward. He said what he felt he should say and immediately repaired back to his district to explain his position to his voters. You may not like what he said, but it is ludicrous for you to label him a coward. He shows more fortitude than any other Republican politician I can think of.
The only sandwich that pig would have is between Hildebitch and Huma.Damn, Conservative women are so freaking hot!
Meanwhile, Liberal men enjoy yours.

Well played!

Ironic, isn’t it? The darling of the “principled Right,” the man with s 100% conservative rating on his votes takes a stand against a repulsive human being like Donald Trump and overnight he becomes a Chinese spy. But as many of you have insisted the Republican Party has not become the Trump Party. Oh, no, that’s insane! A fellow Republican steps off the reservation and we can’t just disagree with his stand. No, we must destroy him! No, I’ve changed my mind. It’s not ironic, it’s disgusting.

I'd be willing to bet 90% are not Republicans and didn't support this dude until he went full TDS.

He’s an average president, not horrible but not great, I’ve said that many times. He’s also a repulsive human being.“repulsive human being”
that’s deep dan
nice work

Exactly Headhunter, no assurance everyone in there is in fact an Amash fan and in reality, keeping him elected and being a thorn in Trumps side is far better than running against him when incumbents have such a ridiculously high re-election rate. Creating friction in their own party is way better than the rubber stamp a D would offer. In fact the opposition would be smart to stack the crowd to make Amash look mainstream.
PD, this is the wrong hill to die on man. He calling for impeachment of his parties president based on charges that were not validated by a special council. Not sure what the deal is but my guess would be his internal polling shows he is in trouble for 2020 and he needs to neuter the one campaign slogan a D would use that creates the most issues for him.
This has nothing to do with stepping off the reservation either. making a principled stand is wayyyyyyy different then trying to get ahead of the political tea leafs prognostication to stay elected.
Think it is ironic that the D's are trying to collect data on DJT as a public citizen, but not worried about a parasitic congressman who is actively opposing a policy that can affect his real time ownership of a company based in a foreign country that is the target of punitive tariffs.
I’m sorry, don’t mean to be insulting, but that is about as naive a statement as I have seen on this board. I can’t believe you truly mean that.he stopped socialism and the ruination of this great country dead in its tracks
start there dan
I’m sorry, don’t mean to be insulting, but that is about as naive a statement as I have seen on this board. I can’t believe you truly mean that.
I’m not thinking this is a hill to die on. I have always admired and respected Amash as one of the most libertarian-minded politicians of our age, a person I believe is motivated by principle above all else. I have no idea if his seat was in jeopardy before this event. But I don’t believe it is the main factor in his decision. He said when he read Book Two of The Mueller Report (I think that is what it’s called) he could not sit back and say nothing about the actions of his president, regardless of which party is involved. I haven’t read a single word of the Mueller Report, didn’t know there was a Book Two. I take the man at his word (it’s rare for me to take ANY politician at his word!). I have heard it reported that other Republicans have told him they agree with him but they are afraid to cross Trump. I don’t know if that’s true, but if it is it’s them that are the cowards, not Amash.
For the record I am opposed to impeachment. My opposition to impeachment is based on what I have seen and heard from news reporters and commentators. The left-wing people like Jimmy Dore and Glenn Greenwald have told me pretty much all I need to know about whether impeachment is in order. Right wing commentators are going to back Trump's play no matter what. They're good team players, and desire to remain in good standing with their team. The same holds true to left wing commentators. It's when people you would normally expect to follow their marching orders defy those orders that you can begin to expect maybe the truth is seeping out. There have been a handful of leftists who have debunked the Russia scandal that have shown true courage. They have been vilified by their comrades every bit as much as has Amash. Right wingers have applauded their courage. But now one of their own has "turned on them" and they have decided to employ the same tactics against Amash that the leftist have used against their "traitors."PD the only chink in that argument is that if Amash saw it and read it to come to the conclusion he did, then you have to believe every democrat alive (and dead) would be screaming the same thing and impeachment proceedings would already be moving forward?
Just like nearly every other person on the planet, Trump has his warts so calling him “a despicable human being” is a bit rough. What Trump doesn’t have in common with most other Republicans, especially presidents is he does roll over and take it in the poop shoot every time he is attacked. Plus his warts are magnified by a 100,000x microscope versus the three blind mice when it comes to liberals.
If a crime was committed he needs to be prosecuted and sent up the river. But if a crime has not been committed (and I’m not talking about intent) then the liberals/press need to move on.
I do think if you roll over enough rocks this will come down to him trying to save his political
hide. This is a good reason to release the whole report though. For the R’s that want to speak out but don’t for fear of Trump (am sure there are D’s that want to speak out against impeachment as well) they are truly cowards. The reality is that this has to pass the senate which is never going to happen based off of what we currently know, so posturing is about the only thing that comes to mind and posturing is almost always associated with saving ones political hide.
He came to a conclusion that is counter to the Republican template and he will pay the price for going against Trump
The only saving grace in my mind is I am sure Hillary would have been an unmitigated disaster. If I had to pick my poison it would be an easy choice, Trump over Hillary every time. But that's only because in my mind she is unadulterated evil, easily the most corrupt, contemptible person in my generation. Hillary is despicable.
mr clean couldn’t have pulled it off
ike had no trouble calling on patton when he needed him
As regards your first sentence I disagree. The Republican Party has become the party of Trump. When is the last time the party machine has defied the man? It half heartedly tried to defy him the first two years and lost the House. Since then it pretty much licks his boots whenever he tells them to.The republican Template is not unfailingly pro Trump. Trump is barely a republican at all and that’s a good thing.
Going against Trump in favor of police state tactics is as neocon as it gets. Principled my ass.
I have no idea what you mean by your second sentence. What police state tactics are you talking about?
As regards your first sentence I disagree. The Republican Party has become the party of Trump.
I don’t follow the Supreme Court, but I seem to remember reading that in his first year Gorsuch (sp?) sides with the liberals more than the conservatives. And conservatives on Fox have been upset with Kavanaugh, worried he won’t vote to overturn Roe.OK, let's set aside the constant Never Trump faction of Romney etc. and concede that Trump has put his stamp on the party.
So Trump, a former democrat - essentially a third party candidate - hijacked the neocon party on a platform of making America great again, appointing constitutionalist judiciary and has conquered the neocons and forced them away from their globalist agenda.... I am at a complete loss as to where this is at odds with the core principles of libertarian philosophy.
So much ignorant bias in your post. Good grief Charlie Brown.I don’t follow the Supreme Court, but I seem to remember reading that in his first year Gorsuch (sp?) sides with the liberals more than the conservatives. And conservatives on Fox have been upset with Kavanaugh, worried he won’t vote to overturn Roe.
As for your comments regarding the NeoCons I can only assume we inhabit different universes,
I can only assume we inhabit different universes
I'm disappointed that you have put on your team blinders to call this guy principled and have "no idea" what I'm talking about.
Watch his former campaign sponsor cut his nuts off for him at this town rally. She explains the police state tactics VERY clearly.
HIGHLY recommend watching this for anyone who is unclear about Amash's sellout of American's Constitutional rights and the political reasons for why he did it.
