No, just from your posts. 🤣
There is nothing in my posts or my links that are flailing. The opinions in this link are quite calm in pointing out the error in Trump's economic (political) policy when it comes to tariffs. Whether he intends it or not the tariffs will be used by politicians and regulators of every stripe to aid their compatriots and punish their perceived enemies. That's the nature of the regulation game regardless of who the regulators work for.

I believe trump inherited 12,000 tariffs when he first took office. I think Biden extended and added to trumps China tariffs, so “tariff man” isolated to trump is either willfully ignorant or disingenuous.

Donald Trump very proudly gave himself the title of "Tariff Man."

How much more number one would we have been without them? Why don’t you just buy American?
Why not buy the product that most appeals to you and your budget regardless of who made it? Why stop at "buy American," why not devolve it into buy Oklahoman?" Why stop there? Why not make it " buy Tulsan?" Why stop there? Why not make it buy something made in your own neighborhood? Why stop there? Why not make it something you make yourself? Does that sound ridiculous (of course it does)? But it's exactly the same logic you propose when you insist government should force (through tariffs) every American to buy American.

Not ridiculous at all, those are all great ideas. Our country sounds like a logical stopping point though. I think based on your social score from postings here you should have to pay double tariffs.

Jeebus! Did you learn your macro & micro economics via correspondence with Gump University? If so, did you pass?

I bet the people in Guatemala think their country would be a great stopping point. Why do you think there should be a stopping point beyond the choices of free people choosing freely what products they want to purchase?

You a Walton Dan?

Fify. 😁
BTW, Woody, there are no free market economists on DJT’s list because he’s a big government MAGA “conservative” who thinks he and his posse have the smarts to regulate our economy. That’s in stark contrast to the big government Democrats who think *they’re* the smart ones who know how to regulate our economy. Neither team has a clue what they’re doing but both have convinced their followers, people like you, they’re right and the other guys are wrong.

Sleepy wants another kiss. Kumula wants another donation.

I’ve never been dirty, but in my post-military years I did lean a little to the “hippy” way of life, assuming by that you mean anti-war and anti-authoritarian from both the left and right. And I think you should personally be as American-first in your consumer methods as you want to be, but you should leave the rest of us alone and free to decide for ourselves how we want to spend our money.

You obviously can’t be trusted to do the right thing, so pay the tariff for hurting our countrymen.

We do everything possible to support businesses in our local community. Even something simple as buying gas, We fill up at the same gas station as often as possible just to support the business in our community. When we eat out, we frequent local establishments even though the options are somewhat limited. When I need materials for our rental properties I buy locally. When we buy cloths or other household goods it's local as much as possible. Yes some of those businesses are national brands and are sometimes more expensive but they provide employment and tax revenue for our local community.
During Covid we made it a point to eat out more and tipped more than usual just to try and support our local community. So yes Dan we are already doing what we can to support our local community.

That's great! That's exactly what you should do if that's how you feel about it. But that shouldn't give you (or your favorite) politician the authority to impose how you feel about it on everyone else. And by the way, almost all those "local" products you buy contain components that came from somewhere else, components that very well may be affected by a tariff.

No shit captain obvious, you should work on your reading comprehension.

The thing you seem to be unable to comprehend is your talking point to “buy American” is filled with hypocrisy. How can you “buy American” when almost everything you buy contains components that are not American?
