Any surprises on allocations?Should get seeds for Big 12 and Big 10 on Monday. Conference allocations are announced today

Not really. 141 ACC Matthews #5 but didn't allocate because he was #29 in RPI but the cut line was 28 and he didn't have the winning %.Any surprises on allocations?

Because the NCAA is stupid.
There's something I've wondered about for years and this illustrates it. If they are going to arbitrarily (seemingly) cap the seeds at 33 per weight why don't they just stop at 32 and get rid of pig-tails. I know Sheets placed from 33 and I couldn't have been happier but 32 is enough.
Big ifThompson getting the 3 seed is huge. If he wrestles to his potential he can get to the final.
Thompson HAS to cut his weight right.Thompson getting the 3 seed is huge. If he wrestles to his potential he can get to the final.
Is he really struggling making weight or is this just an assumption as to why his performance hasn't met expectations? If he is struggling with his cut the good news is that Thompson has a first round bye so with the 2 hour weigh-in and first round matches he probably has around 3.5 hours until he wrestles. Should be plenty of time to recover and get rehydrated.Thompson HAS to cut his weight right.
I wont say how much he's been letting his weight get up at times because its not a good look and I try to consider that. But yes its a big F"N problem and that's putting it nicely. He didn't cut much of anything in HS and I think he's grown a bit since being at OSU. He has no real experience with weight management and it shows. Is he really struggling making weight or is this just an assumption as to why his performance hasn't met expectations? I don't disagree. And having someone like a Jersey Robb pushing you daily for the spot at 184 is probably the best thing that could happen. You cant do anything about a kid continuing to grow once they get into the room, but the lack of self discipline is a little discouraging. It sounds like he needs to RS next year and let Plott graduate and then go at 184. That would leave 165 and 174 up for grabs.

He’s not cutting that much weight he just needs to mature a little bit cutting weight and being undisciplined two different things. He is not a big 74 pounder by any stretch.I wont say how much he's been letting his weight get up at times because its not a good look and I try to consider that. And yes, the extra time will hopefully help because Picklo will be gunning for him for sure.
He will never be a 97 pounder, and if he is, he’ll never see the mat again no chance he can pay with Christian Carroll he just needs to grow up and live his life like a wrestlerAt this rate, we are looking at 197.lbs
Lmao you can try to split hairs but I'll play along because I don't think he's a particularly big 174 either. But the fact is cutting a sh/t ton of weight every week is the direct result of being undisciplined. He has been horrible at moderating his weight and that leads to horrible weight cutting practices. And that is affecting his performance 100%!He’s not cutting that much weight he just needs to mature a little bit cutting weight and being undisciplined two different things. Blair said he's not cutting that much weight. Yes he is. Unless Blair wants to share what he thinks is "not that much weight" for a 174 D1 wrestler? Bottom line we can argue about it til the cows come home, but the fact is I wouldn't give a damn if it didn't affect his performance. And if he gets it together for B12s and NCAAs I'll shut up about it.I honestly thought yall were saying the same thing. Blair just a little more protective about it haha
College 174 kids typically stay @10 over until it gets close to match days. if he’s jumping up to @195 each week than he’s doing it wrong and needs to learn how to keep it down.Lmao you can try to split hairs but I'll play along because I don't think he's a particularly big 174 either. in my ass everyday
I can’t imagine the coaching staff not monitoring the weight of its wrestlers….especially the freshmen. I with Pat, I can’t imagine the staff allowing a freshmen to routinely get to 20lbs over weight during the season.I can't imagine the coaches letting him get up to 195 during the season and I'm not sure how he could let his weight get that out of control with being in the room almost everyday. But the way you're explaining the situation makes me think that the coaches have a lot less involvement in their weight management than I thought. Which is surprising because even my HS coach was in my ass everyday about my weight.
You'd be surprised by a lot of the old school mentality still out there that the weight is left up to the athletes and often theres no help from nutritionist etc.I can't imagine the coaches letting him get up to 195 during the season and I'm not sure how he could let his weight get that out of control with being in the room almost everyday. Maybe he has but how much control do they really have? Not like theres a sold back up at 174 either?I figured brining Coleman in would of helped that old school mentality.
Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach him how to fish, he eats for life. Give a Wrestler a fish and he eats the whole thing in the dark where nobody can see him.Maybe he has but how much control do they really have? Not like theres a sold back up at 174 either?
Please do you’ve been using it as an excuse all year for himBlair said he's not cutting that much weight. Yes he is. And making excuses? No man that’s you lol. You like to blame his struggles on being a true freshman blah blah blah. He would’ve already been replaced if he was at state college with his results. No one expects him to be a world beater but when he looks really promising one match and then does literally nothing at all the next, it’s an issue. And I’m still gonna be nice and not throw out a number but he lets his weight fluctuate way too much. And imo that’s his biggest issue. More than generating offense. I hope he gets it together. I hope he kicks ass this weekend. For himself and for this great team. Please do you’ve been using it as an excuse all year for him
Shut up about it like you said he will be finePlease do what?
😘Shut up about it like you said he will be fine
