2025 NCAA Tournament

Plott on deck Mat 4. Tough match. Foca pinned him in Tulsa 2023.
Plott wins a close one, just ground it out. When I watched Fugit from Wisconsin the thought, I had was Cael Hughes beat Fugit soundly in their senior year. Also, with portal talk I thought of us going after Alirez and it was implied he wanted a lot of money. My conclusion what a mistake that would have been because he did not do well at Big 12 and Nationals. Penn. St won 5 of 7 in consolation semi's and Nebraska Minto pulled out the win on a throw. I did not like that round.

That round was a wash with Neb, score wise with Minto winning
Yeah, you only get a point on 3rd-8th place matches going forward, plus bonus. However, bonus is more uncommon late in the tourney. So you guys will more than likely have to sweep the finals and hope Nebby goes 0-3. Unfortunately, you have Gable at heavy.

Stevo getting dusted by Smith of Neb. Van Dee Neb up 3-1 on Knox. I hate Nebraska

Looks like Smith will get bonus on Stevo

Will, I think that's 3.5 more points for Neb. Let's go Fish & Amine

Frickin Allred of Neb just won so that'a one more point. See why I hate them?

Somehow I missed McDanel wresting but he lost

They were 3-4 in the 7th place matches and we were 0-2. I guess that's why they are ahead of us.

We need to get Cam Steed at 174. He's a huge 165
What a miserable session, we did poor, and Penn. St. shined. Really hate it. What a horrible way to end a great career for Plott. He gives up 2 takedowns after riding the whole 2nd period and had a 3 to 0 lead. I hope this is not an indication how tonight will be because this session sucked. I thought appropriately Dustin would get a tough, workman like win but instead a painful loss. It was a great career.

Gut reaction, still proud of him.

Why did Plott shoot there? I feel like half our losses this weekend were off crappy shots when we had a lead in the third.

agree 100%

what the heck was dustin doing?

shooting from downtown in the last 20seconds of a career he hasn’t taken a bad shot is nuts

but hey he dang sure put in the work to make his choices

great career and personal favorite

remember him from ok youth wrestling website as wrestler of the week as a
division 1 63llber when my son wrestled

Sad to see him lose that way in his final match but Plott is the type to leave it all out there on the mat so I guess I can't be too judgemental

I understand that, but one was barely moving and it seems most likely its his ACL and he did it in practice.
If you watch Wyatts matches closely, his arm had limited strength, but yes the PSU guy did have a worse injury, sure. I still like Wyatts chances if they're both 100%
Based on the recruits we have coming in I would expect next year to be last year of getting 4 or 5 guys from the portal. Hopefully from then on it will be just to fill a spot or two every once in awhile, like Penn st has done the last couple of years.
Agreed
Wondering the same thing. He had riding time and the lead with no stall calls right?

Just have to wrestle smarter
He had 1 stalling call so he couldn't stall. Plott was obviously gassed. I don't mind him taking a shot if it is open. It wasn't open however and he got countered. You can't take poor shots against guys like that, especially when you're gassed.

Super happy for Fish! If you get a roster of guys with that mindset, you’ve got something! Did he make some mistakes with 23 seconds left, yup!

But he’s an AA and that portrait goes up!

Plott…been a great ride with that guy! 4x AAs don’t grow on trees and we had the pleasure of witnessing it!

Question for you historians: When was the last time OSU had 3 finalists?
2014; Alex Dierringer-1, Tyler Caldwell-2,Chris Perry-1

2006; Johny Hendricks-1, Jake Rosholt-1, Steven Mocco-2

2005; Zach Esposito-1, Johny Hendricks-1, Chris Pendleton-1, Jake Rosholt-1, Steven Mocco-1

2004 - 1st; Zach Esposito-2, Tyrone Lewis-2, Chris Pendleton-1 (Thompson and Rosholt finished 3rd after 1st's in '03)

Due to work only able to catch my first matches today. 0-3. Sorry all. I’m skipping the finals tonight now……
I missed all the matches this morning as well. Been sick the last few days and arrived in New Orleans this morning after our cruise. Spent the morning on Bourbon Street.

Not sure why ESPN chose 184 to start things. It doesn't make any sense to me. At the very least you'd think they'd want to draw out the anticipation a little more. BUT, Jordan Burroughs had a vote, and he and Carter don't mix well lol.
