2025 NCAA Tournament

Not sure why ESPN chose 184 to start things. It doesn't make any sense to me. At the very least you'd think they'd want to draw out the anticipation a little more. BUT, Jordan Burroughs had a vote, and he and Carter don't mix well lol.
Gable to cap it off!

2014; Alex Dierringer-1, Tyler Caldwell-2,Chris Perry-1

2006; Johny Hendricks-1, Jake Rosholt-1, Steven Mocco-2

2005; Zach Esposito-1, Johny Hendricks-1, Chris Pendleton-1, Jake Rosholt-1, Steven Mocco-1

2004 - 1st; Zach Esposito-2, Tyrone Lewis-2, Chris Pendleton-1 (Thompson and Rosholt finished 3rd after 1st's in '03)
Feels good to be back in the conversation again!

A good tournament this year. A ton of great storylines both individually and teamwise. I can't remember another year where four teams had at least three finalists. OSU returning to the "conversation". Nebby killing it and stealing your thunder. If not for them, the conversation in Philly would be about DT and the future. For all the adversity on day 2 for PSU, they are poised tonight to set the points record (my personal favorite). AJ is always a headliner and he did not disappoint. Just a great tournament this year, and I was lucky enough to witness it in person for the first time.

I even met ChasePollard and his lovely wife. I may even put that on my tombstone. "I ONCE MET CHASE POLLARD"

The next task is to grow the quality in the BIG 12. Having only two teams in the top 10 doesn't get you ready for nationals. ISU really crapped the bed this year. Placed 27th with a 7th place finisher.

Iowa State, Missouri and UNI are all quality program who appear to have the ability to stay that way. OU is a toss up but them growing back into a strong program would be really helpful.

No one lower than 6th and 8 wrestlers 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for Penn State is insane.

We usually wrestle a tough duel schedule..NC State,V-Tech,Iowa. Plus they went to cklv so cowboys see plenty of competition throughout the year even if big 12 is down.

I agree that you guys seek out competition. I hate to break it to you guys but over the next fews years, you'll see some subtle changes in scheduling to emphasize peaking toward nationals. Early season tournament to practice making weight over two days. Then the January doldrums as DT breaks everyone down to get the guys ready 6-8 weeks later for nationals. The schedule will become monotone over time. I hate the PSU schedule. It's boring but then in March I'm happy. So I've accepted it but wish I'd see our guys more and against better and different competition.

Not sure how many of his interviews y’all have watched, but it seems pretty obvious that Mr. Jock Itch is trying to rehab his image and show he’s “grown” so some school with meh morals and a strong desire to compete with PSU backs up the Brinks truck for him. Maybe I’m just cynical but it all comes across for what it is: phony.

It is also very funny to hear him repeatedly brag about humble he is. He’s very proud of his humility.

He seriously gave an interview about vanity and his self work of improving it, while wearing an AJ Ferrari shirt.

In all seriousness though, I hope he does have it together. He can and already does impact some youth, it’s better if it’s a good impact.

JB actually explained it over on Twitter. ESPN was looking at production value and how to lure in the most viewers. If you go straight through from 125, everyone tunes in at the end. If you bookend things, people are more likely to watch all 10 weights.

The way people feel about Starocci winning five (good or bad) is probably the way people felt about Dick Hutton 1950 being the first four timer.

It looked like the plan for Troy was to wrestle a defensive, controlled match. Have to be able to ride him to make that strategy work.
