semifinal takedown was rat poison for spratley

he was holding center but not forcing stall calls with lack of attacks.

should gone last minute of OT like he went last 30 of hideout

Robinson scored two takedowns in the dual countering Troy’s shots, I’m sure that made him hesitant to pull the trigger.
Should’ve gone the last 30 seconds of regulation AND the last minute of Sudden Victory the way he did the final 30, IMO.

The final 30 seconds of a tie match are essentially Sudden Victory anyway. And he wasn’t going to win in ride outs.

If you need a takedown to win… why not give yourself 2-3 shots at it instead of one sprawling effort when already trailing?

Worst case maybe you get some stall calls on Robinson while you’re aggressive.

If Robinson countered & wound up winning, so be it. He wound up winning anyway.

Henson missed time in January. I wonder if missing time and the fact he really only had one other competitive wrestler at his weight in his conference might have mattered. I know VT goes to CKLV and came to Stillwater but wonder if he might consider going somewhere else where he is pushed more during the season. I like VT but would like to get Henson if he ever decided to move somewhere else.

NCAA needs to figure out the stalling or the sport will die in colleges.
Lack of calling stalling is by far the biggest (on the mat) issue college wrestling has. It's made even worse by how bad it can be exploited due to 3 pt take downs giving a bigger cushion, it's especially noticeable in tight 1 takedown matches. Dudes can just flee for the last minute+...
