If you had read the article you would know the author explicitly stated on more than one occasion he was NOT calling Trump fanatics Hitler fanatics. He was saying, and I agree with him, that Trump fanatics exhibit many of the same psychological (my word) characteristics of devotion to their leader that the most die-hard Hitler fanatics carried to their graves. It had NOTHING to do with nationalism or country-first or globalism.
But since you brought it up I will tell you that I am an individualist and philosophically an anarchist that would have people be free of restraints placed on them by outside actors in the name of protecting them and insisting It’s for their own good. As such I advise (as does the author of the link) that people drop their pathetic need to find a leader to follow, because it almost never has the results they think it will have.

I think it's both funny and sad you and this idiot author apply this to Trump supporters while avoiding the thought it applies to Democrats perfectly. While Democrats do not have loyalty to one individual they do have an unquestioned loyalty to the party.
Bearcat, I like you and respect you and respect your opinion even when I disagree with it. But this is an unserious “whataboutism” in an attempt to avoid having to take a hard look at yourself and your own team. I have had many many “come to Jesus” conversations with the Democrat loyalists over the years to the point that @davidallen, my favorite Democrat loyalist to argue with and ridicule, has cut off all communication with me. I think the most ardent and loyal Trump faithful, the ones who defend everything he says or does without fail while insisting they don’t, are leading themselves and this country down a potentially dangerous path they are too blinded by loyalty to examine. And I know the blindest and most loyal of the faithful get infuriated and just determine to become more blind and loyal, I know they are beyond reach. I’m aiming at the normal person that kinda likes Trump but hasn’t fallen under his mesmerizing spell and will keep his eyes open through the process, and my wading through the vitriol thrown at me by Trump fanatics is just a price that has to be paid to reach a rational person.
Yet I'm neither blind or loyal to Trump or anyone else yet because I ask question, expect laws to be enforce equally and point out the hypocrisy and double standards I'm considered a loyal Trumpist. Can you point to a time, even one single time, when criticism was aimed at Trump that you didn’t immediately spring into action to defend him, and when the criticism had legs you didn’t respond with a whataboutism, “the other guys do it, too, so I don’t have to examine a Trump malfeasance until you go after the other guys first!” Maybe you have but I can’t recall it ever happening. What’s weirdly troubling is you obviously believe you’re not loyal to Trump. It’s as if you’re either embarrassed to admit you’re loyal to Trump or you blindly consider yourself to be an objective observer who just happens to see Trump needs to be defended or justified every time. It really doesn’t compute when you insist you’re not loyal to Trump because you’ve been nothing but loyal from the beginning. Why not just admit it?

He doesn’t have a website that I know of, he writes for Taki, but the only way I could find to post the link was the way I did it. I find it remarkable that you couldn’t understand him. He wrote in clearly understandable English. If you will scroll through this thread you will find several places where I give my take away. I find it baffling that you read it but couldn’t understand a word.

I told someone very early in the thread to click on the top post and it takes you where you need to be. It hadn’t occurred to me that you hadn’t read any of the thread before commenting. At any rate, click on”Exalted Failures, Part II” if you want to read it.
If you would go back and look I think you would be amazed to find most of my post are about equal treatment. Most of my criticism about Biden and Democrats is about their ridiculous policies and their blatant hypocrisy. You will also find I'm not shy about criticizing Republicans when I feel it's warranted.
Do I defend Trump and overlook his obvious shortcoming and personal flaws? Probably but that is mainly due to the unfair unprecedented all out false attacks by Democrats and the MSM. You ever see Democrats attack Trump or any other Republican on policy it's always some kind of race, gender, sexual orientation or some other BS equity attack. That kind of BS doesn't not work on me, in fact it causes the opposite.
You don't want people supporting Trump you had better come up with policy disagreements and prove how your criticism is justified and correct. As an example, your position on trade, you criticize the US using tariffs while ignoring other countries tariff the shit out of US products. Add in you see no problem with hundreds of billions in trade deficit without showing how that benefits the US and your argument falls flat. If the US is going to be the leaders of the free world and the protector of freedom around the world we have to be both healthy and prosperous. Hundreds of billions of dollars going out of the US over the years, especially to our adversaries, has weakened this country's health and prosperity. That's not good no matter how you look at it.

I found his line of thinking limited to making an analogy to something he admits is not a good comparison to begin with. Although he doesn't tell you that until you read the whole thing.
While he points his finger at Trump and doesn't like Trump because he fears a dictator that will take his supporters and use them to attack the world he fails to take into account that Trump is the only president in the last 40 years to not get us into a new war. While doing so he fails to see that the guy in the WH has already done so, spending 80 billion dollars while neglecting and rising inflation in the US. He also fails to look at the American system of governemnt.
To become what he fears Trump would need to maintain his seat in the presidency but if elected would only have four years to do what Hitler did in 15. That's not looking at the situation through clear glasses. He is just as blinded and made fanatical by his fear as the Maga supporters he is pointing at.
Which brings me to why you like this guy. You are two peas in a pod on that sentiment. You keep trying to warn everyone about something that you can't be certain will happen or even have a good chance of happening. Its kind of chicken little ish. It sounds like "The sky is falling."
Suggestion. Quit trying to make this comparison. Its not realistic and will get you no where. You can find faults in Trump and reason to not vote for him without having to make this analogy.
It’s an accurate comparison. You’re doing the same thing the others have done, jumping to a conclusion that he’s ragging on Trump. He’s not. He’s ragging on Trump’s most fanatical MAGA supporters, some of whom are on this board, and exposing their psychosis as being uncannily like the psychosis of Hitler’s most fanatical supporters. In his own way he’s suggesting those Trump fanatics need to look in tbe mirror and see what they have become. Somewhere in there he points out how detrimental it is for one to cling himself with all emotional power to a politician - ANY politician.

Dan doesn't vote. He tries his hardest to tear down both sides. Can't fault him for that. All politicians sleep together regardless of party affiliation and we're relegated to choosing between the lessor of two evils whether we like it or not. I was better with Trump calling the shots imo. Biden has done nothing but make an embarrassing spectacle of himself and our country.
I honestly believe he knows that the most rabid Trump fanatics not only will not be persuaded but will double down on their determination to see to it their psychosis “wins.” I honestly believe that he, like me, is doing his best to persuade Trump fans sitting on the fence, the normal people, the ones he calls the “liddul people,” to take stock of the consequences if they jump off the ledge with the fanatics. But there is no doubt he is very aware that the fanatics will use what he wrote as further reason to dive deeper into their fanaticism. I think he, like me, has already written off the fanatics as a lost cause and so does not need to sugar coat what needs to be said. Sugar coating the truth about fanaticism has no value.
Love this post. The lesson to be learned is that voting for the lesser evil still begets evil. If you’re going to vote find someone you don’t think is evil and vote for him.

If you’re a full blown Trump man that makes you a nationalist, a mercantilist, a high-tax protectionist, none of which are elements of conservatism.
I have no idea who this David Cole is. I know him only as a contributing writer on Takis Mag. It’s entirely possible he would write other things with which I disagree, but he’s 100% on point in this article IMO.
