What I don't understand about Trump

First, I think Donald Trump is a smart man. That statement is what makes me conflicted in my opinion about Trump. When it comes to debates, I wonder if he even prepares for them? He comes across as if he just walked in the door and does them off the cuff. In business, especially in the size of his companies, you plan and strategize what you do. And as head of the company if you aren't capable, you hire people to do the work you aren't skilled at. So I really am confused why he does not have clear defined plans. The closes details I ever heard him present was the construction of a border wall. Looks like he could hire a team to put together enough details for talking points during a debate. As a business man, he should be blowing away politicians who probably never held a real job. It seems as if he believes that giving details will draw more scrutiny...instead he is getting attention for a lot of silliness. Anyone else wonder why he doesn't show his business savvy in debates? Kasich seems to be trying to give specifics like a CEO would.

Rope a dope.

Dope = Hillary. (Or a credible threat by another R)

Basically, he has the luxury of not taking hard positions at present.

(That's all I got...but it makes sense)

As an aside, I'm glad to see Cruz making him sweat. Both will be better for it.

You don't need to spend much time preparing when your strategy is making ad hominem attacks and changing your positions before, during and after the debate. Just let it fly.

Trump has a brilliant strategy. Say one thing and get the people that support it on your side. A few days later say the exact opposite of that and get those people on your side. If anyone ever questions why you are contradictory, pull out a totally off the wall sound bite that will bump the hypocrite story down the news feed.

It is the Obama method. That and being nonspecific just saying everything will be great.

Thought provoking article by an English ex-pat on the Trump vote.

Emma sounds half sharp, half brain dead.

There's nothing thought provoking there, however.

But, in a "you're half right" kinda way....I'll say that in the past month I've seen more introspection on the part of libs than I have in 8 to 12 years. The INSANE level of rage at W Bush over Iraq circa 2004 was when libs pushed it into a new, uber-crazy, gear, seeded by the "robbed" election of 2000, and having the fertilizer of an Iraq war they could characterize and bash ad nauseam, growing their insanity to glorious new heights.

This author may be on a trek toward a more open mind and a more accurate understanding of the human condition from multiple vantage points. She's got a ways to go with some of her broad strokes, but at least it's a start.

I rarely venture over here but I think this is the perfect thread for this video. I find this fascinating.

But of course trump supporters are racist because they don't want to be in last place.

All Trump has to do is tell the American people that his immigration plan will save the average family $2,500 per year. Just keep repeating it until it's believed. It's worked before, it'll work again.
