Climate change is the biggest threat that humanity faces this century, except for AI. I keep telling people this. I hate to be Cassandra here, but it’s all fun and games until somebody loses a ****ing eye. This view is shared by almost everyone who’s not crazy in the scientific community.
Anyone who disagrees with you is mentally ill?

Vanguard comes over the top and buys more than Musk?! Screw the left-they have to have their censorship and tax theft -it's what
Makes them exist

Gotta love the left. An individual wants to buy a company bc free speech and they freak out. They seem to have no issue with Blackrock, Vanguard, and State Street being the largest shareholder in 90% of the S&P 500.

its a pathetic display after centuries of “liberals” fighting for freedom they now beg for their own flavor of fascism.

Lecture on!

That's your boy saying those words - you sure you can trust such an alarmist?

I have to give the elitist credit, despite everyone of the climate alarmist predictions being wrong, they have convinced seemingly intelligent people to follow them like a religious cult.
Elitist? Me? I think you mean this guy...

“That’s the scientific method,” Musk concludes. “It’s really helpful for figuring out the tricky things.”

But most people don’t use it, he says. They engage in wishful thinking. They ignore counterarguments. They form conclusions based on what others are doing and aren’t doing. The reasoning that results is “It’s true because I said it’s true,” but not because it’s objectively true.

“The fundamental intention of Tesla, at least my motivation,” Musk explains in his halting, stuttering voice, “was to accelerate the advent of sustainable energy. That’s why I open-sourced the patents. It’s the only way to transition to sustainable energy better.

“Climate change is the biggest threat that humanity faces this century, except for AI,” he continues. “I keep telling people this. I hate to be Cassandra here, but it’s all fun and games until somebody loses a ****ing eye. This view [of climate change] is shared by almost everyone who’s not crazy in the scientific community.”

dave, why the complete terror and meltdown over someone wanting to open up the algorithms and let conservatives say things?

I have zero concerns. None.

You guys have run toward something, someone, that looks great to you with no real idea of the person or their ideas. I find that amusing, not in any way scary.

Your sophomoric statement had to do with climate change. What’s Elon got to do with that.
Sorry - I forgot to attribute the quote I posted. That was Elon speaking not me. It should have read:

“Climate change is the biggest threat that humanity faces this century, except for AI,” he [Musk] continues. “I keep telling people this. I hate to be Cassandra here, but it’s all fun and games until somebody loses a ****ing eye. This view [of climate change] is shared by almost everyone who’s not crazy in the scientific community.”

Who here denies the earth's climate changes? The climate has never been a static thing. Check out the earth's history. Just because we don't believe the infantile alarmist predictions that are used to promote moronic government spending and senseless regulations doesn't mean we think the climate doesn't change.

Frankly, no one I have spoken with in tech, nor anything I have read indicates that "big names" are scared about any of this. Of course, those who see their paycheck potentially negatively impacted are gonna react, but no reasonable people are saying much more than "meh" regarding Elon actually taking Twitter private. Most people I know feel he can't be any worse than Jack Dorsey.

If you have a quote from someone who actually matters in tech saying this is a bad deal I would love to read it.

Wow, how bad did you need this?

And you’re handling it with the grace of Barry Sanders scoring a TD.

he gets those things conflated, understandably.
I don't know if you notice - I don't pay much attention to the media. But go ahead - who are some of the big names [checks notes] in media who are scared? I see a lot of attention-starved nobodies complaining and cheering, but serious folks seem to be rather disinterested.

No one is perfect. I disagree with Musk on several issues but I agree with his free speech position with Twitter.

A simple solution would be for Twitter to stop censoring people merely because they disagree with what they say. Perfect example is the story on Hunter Biden's Laptop. Twitter banned a national newspaper that was reporting on the story because those on the left didn't believe it or more likely didn't want people to know about it. Now that the story has been confirmed to be true, why is Twitter not banning all of those that were spreading misinformation about the story being false?
If the excuse is Twitter has the right to censor anyone they wish for any reason, just be honest and admit Twitter is a leftists communication outlet and will censor any post it deems to be negative against the left.

Can you name the names of these “serious folks [that] seem to be disinterested.” What makes them “serious folks,” as opposed the unserious ones? And how do you know these “serious folks” are uninterested?

How about this... Twitter is a mediocre financial performer that needs to be very thoughtful about how to retain/grow its user base.

Is there anything in it for me if I engage with you? I thought not. I'll pass.

Bwaaaaahahahahahahahaha!!!

The slow would perhaps buy your attempt to twist Mr. Freemans quote to mean he does not value Black History Month when his quote actually suggests it isn't sufficient, in fact we need more focus on integrating black history into our understanding of American history. Not sure if you understood that or are just weak at manipulation.

Uhhhh, dave? You OK? Watch this clip of Morgan Freeman discussing Black History Month. This is where the quote came from.

Now maybe you can tell us WTF you think you're talking about.

Since I suspect you didn't bother to sniff out your bullshit via the video clip, here's the transcript to point it out to you....

MIKE WALLACE, CBS`s "60 MINUTES": Black History Month, you find...

MORGAN FREEMAN, ACTOR: Ridiculous.

WALLACE: Why?

FREEMAN: You`re going to relegate my history to a month?

WALLACE: Come on.

FREEMAN: What do you do with yours? Which month is White History Month? Come on, tell me.

WALLACE: I`m Jewish.

FREEMAN: OK. Which month is Jewish History Month?

WALLACE: There isn`t one.

FREEMAN: Why not? Do you want one?

WALLACE: No, no.

FREEMAN: I don`t either. I don`t want a Black History Month. Black history is American history.

WALLACE: How are we going to get rid of racism until...?

FREEMAN: Stop talking about it. I`m going to stop calling you a white man. And I`m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You`re not going to say, "I know this white guy named Mike Wallace." Hear what I`m saying?

The leftists at Twitter are freaking out they might lose their hold on censoring Free Speech. I saw a report that the Twitter board was considering a "Poison Pill" to keep Musk from purchasing the company. Essentially ruining the company financially to save the company from a hostile take over.
Still whining that conservatives aren't allowed to lie with impunity like you were busted doing. Anything to enable lying. Lie, lie, lie.
