Even though ostated chi disagrees with me it is always difficult to beat a sitting president unless democrats come up with some one like ClintonIt reinforces what all the shrieking leftists on this board miss when clamoring on about 42%.... that's his floor.
He has done some things that tweak different planks of the right, free traders, either immigration stance, etc..... so those folks rightfully take a wait and see approach. The right is far from the monolithic lemming group the Left tries to say that it is.
Some, a few, may splinter off. But barring a severe economic downturn, Kitchen table issues and how batshit crazy (or reasonable) the Left shows itself to be over the next 9 months is going to determine if this is a competitive race or not. Many folks have already splintered from the Left or coalesced around Trump due to his effectiveness.
In short, he has a higher floor than he did in 2016.

In the end, this race will likely be about turnout. Can the emerging Left candidate create a vision people believe in and want to be a part of?
Yup.
I'm dreading another 4 years of Biff, but he's in the catbird seat unless the Dems can end up with a candidate who has the ability to motivate voters to turnout. If the economy continues to be strong, Trump will be able to use that to his advantage. (regardless of what the polls are saying).
What do you think will be the worst thing that will happen to you under biff that offsets the economic benefits?
I know there is a movement within the Republican party to ensure LGBTQ+ protections. Just this year me and some like minded Republicans got language added to the Oklahoma Republican platform regarding ensuring those rights. We did it to make it more difficult for Congressional Republicans to vote against Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression legal protections that would declare those protected classes in relation to housing and employment. To me? Not much of anything. I have concerns about the country, the environment, the planet, minorities, homosexuals, and other issues.
I, also, suspect that current economic benefits are transient, with a crash likely in the next 4-5 years. (admittedly, I'm weak on my understanding of all factors that affect the economy).

You actually think there is a Dem out there that can get close to the center after promising socialism to get the Dem nomination? In the end, this race will likely be about turnout. Can the emerging Left candidate create a vision people believe in and want to be a part of?
In the midwest, that likely means that candidate is triangulated into admitting lukewarm support for the hardline stance on China. Because the alternative is to be "okay" with the prior status quo of jobs being sucked into low cost environments (China) who also don't trade fairly....hardly sends an "I'm going to bat for you" message to workers in those states.
Poor black children all just need to get a personal Miss Havishams to sponsor them. Boom problem solved.
I'm too worried about Van Jones to consider this.Poor people need to not have unprotected sex and drop out of high school. Rich people need to take their own private money and start employment and training programs for the poor citizens that make up their community.
The federal government shouldn’t force either group to do those things however.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
And you act like I am the one out of touch with reality.
Damn it I sit around thinking of ways to harm people who have gender and sexual identities different than mine but thank God we have the legislature to protect us from our evil selves.I know there is a movement within the Republican party to ensure LGBTQ+ protections. Environmentally conservatives believe that we must be good stewards of our environment. We just think that the other accords and carbon taxing aren't the correct way to preserve good environmental standards. Technology will win the day here.
These aren't as divisive as you might think they are. Just saying.
Fill me in please!

Oh, I also like to trash the planet every chance I get because I like looking at trash on my property and breathing dirty air gets me high.
Thank God for legislators they know better than us simple folk
nah. Your solution to fixing poverty is akin to stating that we just need Harry Potter to cast a spell to fix the problem.
Exactly.Ask him what he does to help the planet. I bet it’s super duper significant and a sacrifice he imposes on himself to help the future generation.
Yeah that's it.Call doubledoor and tell him it’s happening.

Yeah they need to get a bigger liar and some one who is more amoral.Ha! Attention democrats. In order to beat trump you need a raper who sticks cigars up his intern in order to take the moral high ground from trump.
Ready, break!
Clinton wouldn’t last ten minutes with these progressive Hyenas.
