I noticed most recent NYT/Siena battleground states poll used some tricky disguising to hide demographics. I tried hard to glean sampling figures. I'm still confused. I read every word.

In a Texas poll, Quinnipiac clearly stated they polled likely voters 54% Democrat, 44% lean Democrat. No mention whatsoever of Republicans. I get a pretty good idea what's going on. Biden wins by 2.

NYT/Siena battleground states shows 64% Democrats between 30-54 and 62% Republicans polled from the Phoenix area. Then on to another region. I'm clueless.

I want to know likely and registered. Likely is more important. I want to know Republican, age and Democrat.

Of course any of us can get the result we want. I can call precincts 1 and 2 in Cleveland and get a 56 point lead for Biden.

I find it very difficult to trust any article that doesn’t name names. This article, for instance, only references “GOP operatives,” and really only “quotes” two people identified as such. And, please, don’t throw the fact the article comes from Fox News at me. I don’t trust them any more than the others.

I do find it fascinating that as more talk of Joe Biden’s dementia is bantered around we are suddenly seeing articles speculating on Trump’s mental capacity. As more people question whether Biden will actually be the nominee we are seeing articles speculating that it will be Trump that drops out. I have to admit to a degree of admiration for the Democrats. After 60+ years of accusing Republicans of secretly wanting to do what the Democrats secretly wanted to do they have perfected the art of deflection.

I'm not sure why that article would get anyone riled up. It's pretty balanced. Some supposed insiders said that Trump's chances look bad right now, and that it is not out of the realm of possibility that if his position further deteriorates, he might drop out rather than adding an historic defeat to his legacy (If those two individuals really exist, and really said those things, I don't blame them for wanting to be anonymous as the alternative would be for them to be fired by POTUS).

A lot of other individuals went on the record pointing out how the polls were wrong in 2016 and how things don't currently look nearly as dire for Trump if you look in the right places.

Considering the source of the article, it is entirely possible that the anonymous sources were made up. If it was a CNN article, we would all assume that they were 100% fictitious. However, FauxNews could also have put the article together as a way of telling conservatives that even though they are hearing bad things, there is no need to panic, and here's why...

Like you, I don't trust any of them. I have been saying for years that they are all corporate owned and in the business of making money for their investors. They are going to tailor/slant their articles in a way that makes their readers want to read the next one they write. In the case of FoxNews, that means downplaying the negatives/criticism of Trump while emphasizing the positive/praise.

The fact that it comes from Fox News says something of course and speaks to the angst that many on the right are experiencing right now. I personally though would like to know whether these Republican operatives are anti-Trump or pro-Trump. They could be either and that makes a big difference.
