Trump press conference today

He said biggest electoral college victory since Reagan. He immediately clarified that he was talking about Republicans. He should have said biggest, for a Republican since HW Bush.

I didn't watch. Was in a meeting so I'm unaware of the context in which this was raised....

But doesn't biggest electoral college win for a Republican since HW Bush (which is what you state he SHOULD have said) actually mean he's only beaten Bush Jr?

If so, is that really something to brag about?

I'm confused....not focusing on a technical misstatement.

Bad political spin, nothing more.

Or as Bannon said, "The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while." Of course the media selectively edited the quote to read "The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while", further proving the point.

VERY fake news :D

No the media should not keep its mouth shut and just listen. That isn't their job. We don't live under an authoritarian dictatorship.

The media needs to keep doing exactly what they are doing. And Trump needs to stop holding press conferences if he is going to look as bad as he looked yesterday.

If you can't see the difference in the media between the new kids on the block treatment obama got and now then you are beneath the level of this board. Even the resident liberals that have been here a while can admit that.

Highly intellectually dishonest to suggest this level of animosity from day 1 is business as usual.

Again, it is called being President. If he can't deal with the heat, then he needs to resign. And his supporters need to stop whining.

First, did those on the right give Obama "the new kinds on the block treatement" from day one? And second, Obama isn't Trump. Trump brings on his problems with his crazy ideas, statements, and policy.

He is undisciplined.

Opposition Senate leadership = billions of dollars by media conglomerates and Super pacs from both parties.

You guys make it so easy to be on this side of the argument.

Too easy. It's not challenging. It's like clubbing baby seals, which is fun of course - but easier than @syskatine at a Wham! concert.

RIP George Michael.

Finally a good point(an obvious one) but only after a stupid one.

What percentage of the most consumed media is left and which is right? Has Facebook been accused of being conservative? Twitter? CBS? NBC? ABC? Comedy Central? CNN? MSNBC? Yahoo news? Nyt? Wash po? You can't possibly believe no matter how ditzy that these things are close to being equal.

The Left's Once Mighty Echo Chamber Is Losing Power

Last night the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes announced how concerned he was with the illegal actions of the deep-state intelligence-community leakers, and that they would be looking at how to find them and stop them. It was clear from that that the House leadership is standing firm. They appear to understand the battle. Rather than accept the premise that Trump’s administration had sold out to Russia, they are going after the leakers. The Senate Republicans may be waffling for now, as they are unfortunately following the Bush methodology, but that is likely to change as they react to the following when:

The Trump administration wins in the end with its travel restrictions.

They fashion a better system of vetting those who would come here.

Neil Gorsuch gets confirmed in the midst of Democratic Party caterwauling.

The wall being planned gets started.

Criminal illegals are deported.

Members of our military and local police know they have the support of the White House leadership and are happier.

Our new Health and Human Services Secretary follows up on finishing off Obamacare.

Business prepares for deregulation, stays here, and comes home.

The Prime Ministers of Japan, Canada, and Israel are all smiling warmly.

Energy pipelines are approved and the energy independence of the U.S. is advanced.

Trump schedules a new rally campaign to remind us of all the stakes.

Last but not least, Jeff Sessions is getting the lay of the land at the Justice Department. More than anyone else, he will be the key to rooting out the new foe we are calling the deep state. They will not stand. They will lose, because Sessions will ferret out the wrongdoers, and follow the right principles until they are in place.

So take heart. Against such formidable principles and resolve, a shrieking left and hyperbolic left will not prevail.

Keep going...

Trump's been throwing temper tantrums for decades. People elected him anyway by a very large margin in the EC. Lot's of people probably voted for because of it.

Bringing it up like everyone should be SHOCKED about it is a loser's move.

What other cards can they play? Other than working with him to share credit for the various rebounds and recoveries because that would be crazy.

That depends on your perspective.

I have a number of very liberal friends who consistently complain about many of these news organizations as being too conciliatory to conservatives. They consistently complain about the reporting and claim that it doesn't go far enough or that it ignores important stories. Many liberals believe that many of these news sources actually helped create the Trump phenomenon. Visit a liberal discussion board sometime and you will consistently observe complaints about many of the mainstream media outlets, just as one observes from those on the right.

This is because when many are presented with a point of view that is opposite of theirs (especially a political opinion), they usually have to blame it on something in order to find a way to ignore it. Thus, it's just the "liberal media" being dishonest. Or it's the "globalist media in bed with conservative financiers" being dishonest.

People elected him anyway by a very large margin in the EC.

A very large margin in the EC? The man won by 77 electoral votes. That is not a "very large margin."

In comparison, Obama won by 126 votes in 2012 and by 192 votes in 2008. But even those margins don't come close to the very large margins won by Presidents such as Reagan, Bush in '88, Nixon in '72, Johnson in '64, etc. Trump's electoral college victory ranks 46th out of 58 elections. Not to mention that Trump lost the popular vote by 2%.

I will agree that Trump is who we thought he was. And i will agree that his supporters apparently love his temper tantrums and craziness for some reason. However, to claim these qualities somehow led him to a large electoral college victory is incorrect. One could easily argue that those qualities actually hindered his ability to win by a larger margin in the electoral college and also win the popular vote.

Not embarrassed at all (why would I use an avatar that I am embarrassed of?, lol).

https://justicedemocrats.com/

It took you five times to answer.

That looks like a great group but your party doesn't have the stones to buck the system. You are stuck with your corporate shills and the rigging of your elections. I'm not sure the hijacking by the mentally ill wing over the corrupt wing is the best strategy but you lost to Donald trump so change is vital. Good luck with that.

If you say so. The swamp is trying to protect itself, and that is the bigger part.

Scott Pruitt is the handmaiden of big oil and flagrantly violated the Open Records Act. He's put Goldman Sachs back in charge of multiple positions.

Just exactly how has he drained the swamp? Every time I think I have my head around it the definition changes. First, it was money in politics. Well, Devoss has given a ton of money and freely admits she sought to buy influence. Then I thought it was kicking out special or corporate interests. No, Goldman Sachs, Exxon Mobil, etc. Then I thought it was integrity. Nope = one of the poster on here explained that's not it. I give up. wth does drain the swamp mean?

Corporate shills like Donald Trump? Oh yeah, he is a Republican.

And I disagree that the majority of members of the Democratic Party are afraid to buck the system. We will just have to see how things develop.
