Trump press conference today

I heard a little bit of it today. He handed them their ass with a smile on his face and a happy demeanor. This is the way press conferences should be handled when you have a press which is literally the opposition. Of course, these losers will go on and on about how a president should not criticize the press. But they are happily forgetting that Barack Hussein Obama berated Fox News and Rush Limbaugh every chance he got. So, blah blah blah blah blah.

He repeats everything 5 times when he talks. By the time he finishes, he's given you much more concise information than you have here.

LOL, this was just the Repblican Super Pacs alone:

Trump also beat:

obama deserves special mention imo

On the travel ban
"We had a very smooth rollout of the travel ban, we had a bad court."

It was effective, but the Democrats and protesters came on to make sure it wasn't smooth.

"I don't think he did anything wrong. If anything, he did something right."

He was talking to ambassadors. Obama's guy did the same thing. He was saying he was doing his job and he never talked about lifting sanctions.

On why Flynn was fired
"The thing is he didn't tell our Vice President properly and then he said he didn't remember... that just wasn't acceptable to me."

How is this not valid?

On false claims about his Electoral College win's spot in history
"I was given that information, I don't know."

He said biggest electoral college victory since Reagan. He immediately clarified that he was talking about Republicans. He should have said biggest, for a Republican since HW Bush.

On leaks, news
"The leaks are real, the news is fake."

What do you not understand about this? Obviously information is coming out that is being embellished and distorted to the point that it's not true. It's quite simple. That's fake news.

I listened to the entire thing. He wasn't ranting and acting like a maniac, like the press will say. He called them out on their one sided reporting. Everything you posted, is out of context. Did you listen to it?

Himself? Does that count? Such potential...much of it wasted.

If you don't see the contradiction between the two quotes, then you have simply made up your mind not to see it. That's OK though.

If you listened to the whole thing then you know it was very clear that he threw out information that was wrong. He got called on it and said, "I was given that information, I don't know". He later went back and said "I meant to say this....".

It was pretty clear that the thought his initial point was truth until the reporter looked it up on google and called him out on it.

He immediately said Republican after the initial statement. He may have been trying to spin it at first, but he backed down and said Republican. The reporter started asking him a dumb question about how people can trust him when Obama had more electoral votes that he did. That was after he clarified he was talking about Republicans. He was still wrong, since the first Bush had a much larger victory. Most reasonable people could see how someone could make that mistake. You've decided you're not going to believe anything he says anyway, which is fine.

Come on @Been Jammin you are better than this.

This isn't difficult.

He was referring to the conversation Flynn had with the Russian ambassador when he said "I don't think he did anything wrong. If anything, he did something right." He was referring to Flynn not being truthful with Pence when he said this "The thing is he didn't tell our Vice President properly and then he said he didn't remember... that just wasn't acceptable to me." Two very distinct issues addressed.

You have made up your mind to see a contradiction where there isn't one.

Trump doesn't always get it right and misspeaks sometimes but he's got a lot on his plate and he's being attacked visously 24\7. I thought he did awesome nice to see his sense humor.

The people who don't like him will never be satisfied. The good thing about Trump is he doesn't care about them.

It will play great to his base and make everyone else crazy.

two distinct differences...pretty clear on that one. I listened to the whole thing as I was driving and it was a hoot. He needs to quit bringing up hillary and other than a few mistakes it was epic.

I watched a lot of it and ended up late back from lunch because of it. I thought overall he did really well. There are times I wish he would be more direct with some of his answers but overall it was much more direct than I'm used to hearing from a politician.

The EC claim was stupid and I knew it was wrong the minute he said it. What's funny is that in the entire press conference that is the absolutely most minuscule irrelevant thing that was discussed but because he was clearly wrong on that point it will be emphasized and stupid questions, like the 1 that was asked, will be raised. The same question could have been raised about Obama's 57 states but wasn't.

My favorite part of the entire press conference was his reference to Hillary's dealings with Russia on the Uranium deal which is at the absolute heart of what is wrong with the press. Can you imagine what would be said right now if Trump made that deal? The media picks and chooses which stories to emphasize and how to spin them to fit the narrative they are trying to tell instead of reporting facts. DC would have been drained long ago if they had been doing to Obama, Hillary, Bill, GWB, GHWB, Reagan, Carter....what they've been doing to Trump. Instead they kiss the ass of the politicians they like and that assert their agenda. A free and unbiased press is necessary for a free state and we do not have that. The one thing I LOVE about Trump is that there is finally someone in power that is willing to stand in front of them and and the world and speak the truth that we all already know. He doesn't do it in hiding or from behind a TV camera he does it to their face knowing they are going to do everything they can to rip him to shreds. He certainly deserves respect for that if for nothing else.

I still think there's some strategy involved because he knows they'll get bogged down in the minutiae.

his mocking of hillary receiving questions from cnn and not turning herself in was great

in not taking the media serious
he gives them no power

this whole flynn thing is a perfect example
flynn talks to russia
flynn lies to vp
press runs story

trump thinks it's no big deal
it is against the law
flynn lied
flynn gets fired

trump needs to taunt the press
tell them

get me a story
not some technicality
but a GD story with some teeth
then i'll be impressed

He spoke about Flynn maybe 5 or 6 separate occasions and this exchange was closer the end than the beginning. Not sure why you are trying to make it an issue when it clearly isn't.

His first two attempts where pretty clear.

Flynn's communications with Russia (in fact Trump said it was ~30 governments) was perfectly legal and acceptable.

Trump fired him because of how Flynn responded to Pence when asked about it. He either wasn't clear on exactly what he was unhappy about here or I missed it.

Recalling this poll from September 2016:

Combining it with these near-universal monumentally wrong predictions a few months later:

And seeing the corporate media set it sights on bringing down one of the most popular people with under 18's.

Now combined with Trump today....

I didn't watch. Was in a meeting so I'm unaware of the context in which this was raised....

But doesn't biggest electoral college win for a Republican since HW Bush (which is what you state he SHOULD have said) actually mean he's only beaten Bush Jr?

If so, is that really something to brag about?

I'm confused....not focusing on a technical misstatement.

I think I saw where Frank Luntz had one of his little focus groups watching the press conference and Trump came out more favorably than the press.

To me the press is acting like a jilted ex desperate to win back your (the publics) affection but all they do is just keep coming off as desperate a mean spirited. They would be better served to throw up the white flag for a little, simply report the news and not try to play "gotcha" with every little story out there. Oh well not a big concern for me if they ever regain their footing or not.
