Thoughts? He definitely sounds up for it (interview from yesterday).

He's got a strong enough personality to enforce illegal immigration decisions. (The law is the law, and should not be selectively applied based on a victimization hierarchy)

I hope not personally. I don't have an issue with Rudy being in Trump's cabinet, but Trump needs to identify an individual who he can highlight (to the best degree possible) is an apolitical individual for AG. Simply replacing the Democratic protectionist AGs (Holder & Lynch) with Republican protectionist AGs doesn't exactly "drain the swamp".

I'd be fine with Rudy. Whomever is nominated cannot be someone who diminishes power elsewhere. Would Trey Gowdy hurt the house if he became AG? Depends on who the governor of S Carolina appoints to replace Gowdy.

Holder/Lynch are and have been political hacks from the outset. An AG who actually enforces the law and prosecutes offenders could look like a political hack initially when compared to the AG's of the last 8 years. Rudy would certainly enforce the law.

Rudy will get a job, him Newt and Christie were the 3 biggest voices in media for him the last month and each will be offered something. Christie may stay as Gov but looks like it may be time for him to skip town on that one.

Not sure I can support Cruz for SCoTUS. I'm afraid he might be a one world guy. His wife has a strong connection to the one world movement. Jmho.

He would make a great AG. So would Christie. Their first move should be to purge the DOJ of the hordes of radical ideologies currently working there.
The problem that Trump is going to have with all the federal government is that the Dems have spent decades injecting liberal ideologs into bureaucratic positions throughout the government agencies.

They implemented employment laws that make it almost impossible to fire bureaucrats, look at the VA, it's ridiculous what people can do and still keep their jobs.

They either need to change the law regarding government employment or Trump needs to reassign people to the crappiest job/location possible make their lives so miserable they quit.

Christie has said multiple times he would enforce the federal drug laws if he were elected President. I wonder if that would be Trump's policy if Christie is AG. If so, he needs to stay in NJ.

I would love Ted Cruz on the Supreme Court.

Not I. While he is certainly a constitutional conservative, I question if he could get out of his own strict morality stances to actually make judgements solely on the basis of law. Being that far right isn't much better for our country than being too far left.

So a person with a strict moral base has no place in our government?

The founders of our country would be rolling over in their graves.

Did I say he didn't have a place in our government? I don't think so. I said I don't think that someone who is completely beholden to his Christian moral code is the right guy for SCOTUS. I want a conservative who will beholden to the rule of law regardless of whether or not it appeals to his moral views.

You don't think a classically trained scholar with Cruz's background wouldn't understand that?

Do you not also understand that there is a long line of previous Supreme Court justices that were beholden to a Christian moral code? Do you not understand that there was a long line of patriots who were completely beholden to that Christian moral code at the founding of our nation and the signing of our original documents?

Now it's unlikely that we'll ever return to those kinds of days in our country and we certainly were not founded to be a theocracy, but to exclude on the basis of a Christian moral code is a slap in the face to our founders and our historical roots.

I do understand, and I'm sorry you seem to think its still 1776. I recognize the Christian foundation of our country. I'm thankful for it. I'm not asking for us to find an atheist for the bench. But extreme Christian positions (such as anti-gay marriage) imo are not good for the unity of our country nor do they represent our country as it is today. I want to see the country move to the middle and our court to adjudicate to the law, and not return to a 1930s morality mindset.

Then again, maybe its my own bias. Cruz has always been too right-wing for my tastes.

So, then you don't really want a constitutional conservative, as you seemed to imply in your first comment in this thread.

It is biased. And bigoted as well.

Bigoted? Because I think extreme positions of any sort (right or left) aren't healthy for our country? You sound like the snowflakes in LA...Calling someone a bigot because they don't share your opinion.

Uh, your "classically trained scholar" is my "condescending douche-bag". :p

I've heard Fallin's name floated as Interior, along with Palin and Brewer because its supposedly one of the few jobs that he can put a chick into (he has male candidates for other positions).
