I was also impressed with Cutter'ss mean streak and non stop attack. 'be like Mike'That may have been the meanest I’ve ever seen Plott and Surber wrestle. Both guys just looked like they wanted to put a hurting on the other guy, not just beat him.
Love when guys wrestle like they’re offended the other guy dared to show up.I was also impressed with Cutter'ss mean streak and non stop attack. 'be like Mike'
Figueroa hurt or ducking?125 - Spratley with a 2nd period FALL.
9-0 oSu
And this.149 - Young drops a 9-7 DEC. Vasquez stalled the entire 3rd but they wouldn't f'n call anything.
17-3 oSu
Hurt a knee last week.Figueroa hurt or ducking?
FUTURE future I think Kody Routledge. Future for this season, hopefully Teague gets healthy and back soon?Who is the future at 157?

That is something the coaches could look at after Vagas and the holidays. I don't like how Young is looking, and Jamison is wrestling solid but not great. However, Hughes is looking good at 133 so far.Just for conversation. Is the team better off with Witcraft at 133, Hughes at 141, and Jamison at 149?
Really like how Spratley wrestled he seemed very quick and got the pin against a guy who tried hard but I don't think he is very good. Hughes was dominant with a tech against an opponent who is questionable. Jamison wrestled solid and won a decision. Young had a bad weekend and today lost to a good opponent. Young not finishing takedowns was a problem. Good for Sheets being dominant but against an opponent who did not look good. Amine's lack of offense really cost him against a solid opponent. He got to his opponent's legs twice getting the leg up in the air once but got no takedowns. Losing the takedown in overtime almost seemed like a relief to get out of this match. I have seen matches where is desire seemed questionable, and this was one of those matches. Hamiti won easy with a major but did not seem to be at his best. Plott won by major grinding his opponent when on top but could have gotten more takedowns although he did have a real nice double leg in the 3rd period. Surber won by major and wrestled strong. Hendrickson dominated Schultz and should have gotten a major but gave up a takedown because Schultz rolled through a great shot by Hendrickson. I was surprised by how easy Hendrickson's match was for him with his speed, strength and explosiveness. Most wrestled good and a few didn't.That is something the coaches could look at after Vagas and the holidays. I don't like how Young is looking, and Jamison is wrestling solid but not great. You definitely have to train thru at times it's about peaking for March . Typically teams pick another event in the year to peak for. Imagine Cliff Keen is the focus currentlyJust talked to a guy that was there and knows a little bit.
With the recruits in, a multiple weigh-in tourney and just the jump in outside activity…there was a ton of working out and limit pushing. An early season March if you will?
Our guys were tasked(not spent) in all phases. Considering that, they weren’t peak.
Multi weigh-in tourney close, this was simulation to that in a way.Just talked to a guy that was there and knows a little bit.

This is the improvement I'd hoped for and expected125 - Spratley with a 2nd period FALL.
9-0 oSu
Cutter seems like he has what looks like a good high-crotch, ala Mike, but not not seeing any leg rideCrowd a little more sparse compared to Friday with 10 to go but people strolling in.
Dean seemed very upset with his opponent after the match. That stale was a joke, the other guy tried to push him out half way around the circle and Dean finally gave in and went out.174 - Hamiti with a 14-4 MD
25-6 oSu

Sheets looks small for 57 but kid has guts.To get the best line-up, considering the contested weights:
133: Witcraft or Hughes
141: Hughes or Jamison
149: Jamison or Travis
157: Travis or Sheets
He does. If he can cut to 149, seems like an option as well.Sheets looks small for 57 but kid has guts.
I believe he is a 149 that they bumped up for a few dualsHe does. If he can cut to 149, seems like an option as well.
He wrestled 149 at MSU open, he weighed in 149 for Utah V and OR State and came out center mat with Young this is why he looks small for 157.He does. If he can cut to 149, seems like an option as well.
You missed the leg ride?Cutter seems like he has what looks like a good high-crotch, ala Mike, but not not seeing any leg ride
This is the problem with top programs.Young hasn't looked great. I think it is a conversation worth having. That being said ... its four duals. Seems a tad to early to pull the plug on Young.
We will learn a lot at CKLV.Young hasn't looked great. I think it is a conversation worth having. That being said ... its four duals. Seems a tad to early to pull the plug on Young.
I guess I just forgot seeing it (I turn 68 tomorrow) and I shouldn't have mentioned it at all. Comparing these guys, negatively, to their "legendary" fathers is not right and I regret it. I should have just said that when he tried the first high-crotch on Friday I got a little chill of excitement and when he hit the one for a take-down Sunday (if I remember correctly), I was more than pleased. It was the same when Wyatt would throw in the leg.You missed the leg ride?
I don't disagree at all. If the coaches made the move this early I get it.This is the problem with top programs.
Right now you’ve got a least 1 weight with a logjam where both guys look more deserving of being on the mat than the guy starting at a different weight.
We’ve been seeing guys get chance after chance for years. In a competitive situation like this - which everyone wants and has signed up for - you have to perform to keep your spot.
He also went for a nice duck under I think twice which looked a lot like his brother.I was more than pleased. It was the same when Wyatt would throw in the leg.
This was my thought too. Would love to be proven wrong but I don’t think Hughes has the strength for 141 yet.On top of that, I know Hughes has had his issues with making 133 but he doesn't not like massive for the weight to me.
