I'll go ahead and go on record as a gun advocate, [r]epublican, and right of center classical liberal that I disagree with that SCOTUS decision.

I'm those things too - and a big states rights guy, but I view Bill of Rights infringements as a violation of the basic membership agreement.

Understandable. I'm on the opposite side in that I view the ability to self-govern and make laws, good or bad imo, as a right of the people of said state as a basic membership agreement. I view the bill of rights as something designed to protect the states and people from infringement on those basic rights by the federal government. And the federal government's violation of that right to self-government as infringement upon that basic membership.

Maybe Arkansas wants a theocracy headed by brtinla. Wonderful!

US libs have alway bought lots of guns.

Sys is proof positive of that...as Medic always likes to point out. :D
No kidding. I met a bona fide gun weirdo Thursday morning. He had exactly 25 firearms according to the police officers who had to remove them all from his house as part of an investigation. He was "the entire block is freaked out by you" weird. syskatine has him beat by at least 5 guns.

Guns don't sell themselves. Now that repubs run it all the gun panic is over. Gotta have an enemy and something to drive gun sales.
It wasn't panic that drove record gun sales. It was the suggestion of "common sense gun reform" from the dude whose common sense brought us Obamacare, Libya, selling guns to drug cartels, IRS targeting, Syria, Egypt, arming terrorists, shovel ready jobs, if you like your plan you can keep your plan, the 80s called and wants its foreign policy back, Iraq withdrawal, sanctuary cities, catch and release, out of control government surveillance, and the ability of the EPA to regulate a puddle. Keep in mind that's just a small sample.

No panic, just common sense.

I'm not sure there's an appetite on either side of this ready to throttle anything back.
