If you factor in that many Israelis believe over half the Israelis that were killed on Oct 7 were killed by the IDF it may be unfair to call it a failure, but the correct term would be catastrophe.

Israel is toast if the IDF is now incompetent., but this reeks of more than simple incompetence. Some would argue the results of the raid were a smashing success for Israel.

If Netanyahu & Company manage to turn this into a regional war as they appear to be instigating their “success” may turn their country into a smoldering conflagration. All that work and all those illegal settlements will have been for nothing.
