I agree. I feel like a long term lineup of Robideau, Routledge, Lockett could be sick.
Travis will have two years left right? So I guess 157 is likely locked down for 26/27 unless one of the above can knock him off. Would have to think he slots in at fringe AA next year. Doubt many true freshman would slot in higher (not a single true freshman in intermat top 20 right now).
It's sounding like Lockett will be a 174.
I only put that in there for if he goes as a true freshman. Just speculation. Also, when playing with next years lineup I feel like without a transfer we will have to put a freshman at 157/165 unless Young can bump to 157 (yikes) and Travis to 165. But that’s far from ideal probably. But also in that scenario (without transfer) you have Mower, Thompson (unlikely with the cut), or Dee.
Travis 157. Not sure if your " collective" is on Facundo or not but he will probably be the 165 everyone goes after and I know some already are 🤷
Ya, looking at options for 165-184 honestly tells me we need portal. Facundo would be a great pickup. He has two years left too which is nice. Would have him and Travis for 157/165 for 26 and 27.
Actually Facundo is going for a medical RS this year and will have 3 years remaining. He has the possibility of being a 7th year guy without the covid year. RS, Wrestle, Olympic RS, Medical RS and then wrestle 3 years
If he gets a medical, i'm sending that video NLWC posted of him practicing prior to the Maryland dual.
Not 100% but I believe a lower body injury is what I heard.
The medical RS game is a wild one. And I'm not saying Facundo is doing that. The odd one is Yonger he's got Gableitis. Did he hurt his knee yes has it kept him sidelined this whole time definitely not
His knee actually didn't heal as well as they initially thought it would. He really wanted to go (he's definitely over college wrestling), but didn't want to do the - sit out most of the season and then try at conferences thing.
Plus - I would bet that new booster had some persuasion to him taking the medical.
I blame no one for seeking all options within the stated rules to their help their own interests lol
The only thing currently against the rules now is having a staff member contacting rostered athletes. Everything else is fair game
