125: Picc vs Bianchi Picc is pissed, Bianchi isn't very good 4-0
133 Brock vs Sykora/Midkiff Doesn't matter which, really 8-0
141: Heil vs Hampton Dean opens up? 12-0
149: Geo vs Bengston Geo is getting more comfortable 15-0
157: Jonce vs Ream Jonce with a big win, getting more confident? 18-0
165 Chandler vs Fogarty Pin last time, don't think Fogarty will stand a chance 22-0
174: Jacobe vs Urbach- A minne transfer, will be same result 26-0
184: Moore vs McNutt; Don't lock your hands, Keegan! 29-0
197: Marsden vs Eaton: Stay smart, Andrew-32-0
HWT: White vs Stibral; Dare I say shutout? 35-0

If we wrestle like we can, I don't see anything but the shutout. Big question for me is how many bonus? If Picc tweaked a knee, and is held out, Eli or GWH still wins at 125. If they want to give Moran a match at 149, we still win.

I said at the time it happened that Pic and Lizak bumped knees and both were grabbing their knees. I just watched the video again and that is what happened IMO. I do not think Pic tweaked his knee and both recovered and showed no signs of it later. As far as the second period choice we deferred- We did not choose down, Lizak chose top. I see your point about wearing down Lizak by taking top or neutral however but in the end acccording to the announcers on the video Sanders wanted Lizak to take bottom but Eggum over-ruled him and told him to take top.. Watching Pic after he deferred he assumed the down position before the coaches telling Lizak what position to take so Pic was already anticipating this move.

I didn't see what happened, just knew at the end of the first he was a bit tender and then saw him rubbing it once more. Glad that is all their was to it. I knew we deferred, and Eggum did the smart thing. I think Picc learned a couple things that will serve him well in the future.

As I have indicated I am a bison fan also and so follow the team also. Probably the wrestler who has the best chance of winning is Ream at 57. Bianchi is a good wrestler but his biggest weakness is on bottom. He wrestled good this summer and lost (dominated) in the finals to fix at a big freestyle tournament and he is a redshirt freshman. However he will get dominated by Picc who has improved tremendously from a year ago. He might have jumped several levels. Sykora at 33 and Fogerty are right there with Ream as their best wrestlers. Solid wrestlers are Bengston, McNutt, Eaton and Stibral has surprised me this year. But I don't see anyone but Ream having much of a chance to win. I watched the Minnesota dual on FLO and everyone wrestled solid. That second and third period were difficult to watch the Picc match who came out like a ball of fire. Losing a takedown in the third has to be tied to being rode out and turned twice in the second. He just can not roll around with Lizak and even if he was rode out he would have won easily if he wouldn't have been turned. Kaid won a great match but loses focus and makes mistakes that SDSU guy will make him pay big time for. Heil is unbelievable how he pulls out these close bouts, the guy is clutch but he is human and I would like to see him give himself a little more leeway if he makes a mistake. Blaylock is solid and had a nice win over a Minnesota guy struggling ( lost to SDSU on Friday in a bout that was not close). Rogers had a solid win. Smith soundly beat one of their weaker wrestlers. He is one that I would really like to jump a level this year. Moore is very important for this team and Smith indicated his improvement which needs to continue. Marsden beat a guy who I think quit against SDSU. He is exciting and painful to watch wrestle. I am really impressed with White and he so far much better than I thought he would be and I hope this continues and he doesn't regress like our 197 to HWT wrestler last year. I enjoyed last nights dual except for Piccs match.

Solid analysis Harley and surprisingly upbeat. Actually you made positive comments about all our wrestlers even indicating Marsden was exciting if painful to watch.

Clay Ream and Jonce Blaylock should be a good match. Ream is a RS Sr. and has a 71-36 record overall and 31-10 in duals with 14 pins. He was named for the 2nd year in a row the Big 12 Scholar/Athlete of the year and he placed 2nd last year to Joe Smith. He lost to Smith in the Big 12 8-0 MD.

Not a shutout but close. Picc beats Bianche 6 to 1, Kaid pins the tru freshmen. Heil gets a tech fall, Ream beats Blaylock 3 to 2, Martinez beats Bengsten 2 to 0, Rogers wins 9 to 3 over Fogerty, Smith gets a tech fall, Moore pins McNutt, Marsden gets a tech fall over a solid wrestler, and White is ahead 2 to 0 with lots of riding time in the second period.

Dang, I have been wrong on Blaylock both duals. Didn't get to see or listen to match, so don't know how it went down. Apparently lost by RT? Does anyone know if he got a takedown, or just two escapes?

He got a TD in the first and ridden out in the second.

Blaylock should have and deserved to win that match. He scored the only takedown of the match. When Ream rode the entire period Blaylock looked like he was about to gain a reversal about half way through. . He could have settled for an escape but instead chose to work for control. Ream fought it off and won a stalemate. That put Blaylock back down and Ream rode out the remaining 30 seconds as well as gaining the riding time point with a minute 33 seconds of ride time. Had Blaylock settled for the escape he could have won the match 3-2 assuming he didn't give up a take down in the third. He deserved a better fate.
