A 2nd place finish would put this as one of Smith’s best coaching performances. What a difference a week makes.
Just goes to show it makes sense to evaluate the season in totality. OSU is peaking at the right time. OU peaked early.

We have 3rd place locked up. Penn State can only score a max of 6 points this morning, but they have 4 wrestling tonight. Hopefully we’ll jump in front of Penn State by the end of this session, but we’d need PSU to lose at least 3 of their 4 tonight to stay in 2nd.
I’m gonna be a chicken:

•Hard to see Sheets beat Young on the bad stick - Unlike most Iowa Wrestlers, Young has THREE Brands to answer too

Harley, never root for Iowa or PSU. Do what I do -- if it comes down to those two for the title, you root for an asteroid.
The Harris headgear spike may cost us 2nd place.....never mind, it was still worth it to see him stick the Mizzou guy.
Penalizing a kid for spiking head gear in a victory is terrible. What’s the difference between that and throwing a basketball to the rafters after a win.
I would usually agree with you Jay, but we have not beat Penn. St. at anything in wrestling for a decade and so I want 2nd place over Penn. St.

That's a sad way to end your career Boo. No offense against the #25 seed in the 3rd place match. Boo will finish 4th with 5-3 Dec loss.
Disappointing for sure but he finished 4th in the Tournament.
That’s pretty much his ceiling.
Boo finishes 4th. Thanks for all of the hard work Cowboy. I know he has said that he is finished, but it sure would be nice if he changed his mind.
It appears to me that when Boo gets in a strength vs. strength position he comes up on the short end.
I don’t fault Boo for staying out of some positions after all of the injuries he’s had.
That’s a good observation...plus that kid is quicker than Boo. Bad combination.

Great try by Sheets, almost had him twice in the third. Boo should be embarassed after seeing that match
I have all the respect in the world for Sheets. Damn close to pulling that off.
