I'd rather have Ryder as well. Welsh still has 3 years of eligibility unless you're talking about someone else?Honestly I’d rather have Zach Ryder. 1 year eligibility vs four.

Same. I think Zach Ryder has higher upside, even though Rocco has one of the best defense. Like Carter.Honestly I’d rather have Zach Ryder. 1 year eligibility vs four.
Yeah sorry. I was talking about Haines.I'd rather have Ryder as well. Welsh still has 3 years of eligibility unless you're talking about someone else?
Welsh decides this lol BT does not have a say in that scenarioSo say Welsh decides to come to Stillwater. He and Thompson have to work out who goes 174 and who goes 184?
Dean won a national title, he may have regressed the next season but he was also a 7th! year senior and those guys normally regressTake Mesenbrink and Kerk out of the equation, because quite honestly they never wrestled at any other colleges. But what transfers to Penn State have been successful? Nagao, went backwards since getting to PS. Dean, went backwards. Hildebrandt, was terrible at PS. Truax, got no better. Not sure if the transfers are not use to the Penn State style or what, but transfers do not get better when they go to Penn State at all.
You are right they jump levels whenever we make a move. It also hurts when our number 1 recruiting class of 2023 has not been productive after 2 years. The good news is we forced them to open up their war chest as Chase indicated but also our staff is new and young and should have great potential for growth.Seems like every year we say we will compete with PSU in “2-3 years”
That has been for the last 10 years.
I definitely think we will stay top 3 but PSU brings in 2-3 studs for every 1 we bring in. A lot has to do with geography for them.
Of those 3 wrestlers I would take Zack Ryder who will be a freshman next year. I had the impression that Rocco would wrestle 184.The notion that one of Haines, Ryder or Rocco won't be wrestling next year is just insanity. Let alone Davis or Nagao.
🥱Rocco is exactly similar to Levi. Will wrestle close against top 20 guys and try to squeak out win instead of trying to score constantly.
HATE this for Branch, and likely the B12.
Well that sucks. Seemed like he was loyal to Wyoming.
Loyal to the money. You are really seeing the NIL impact wrestling now. I could see him end up at Iowa. They need a 25 pounder.Well that sucks. Seemed like he was loyal to Wyoming.
You are right, for some reason I thought his national title was with Cornell and not Penn State. That is my fault.Dean won a national title, he may have regressed the next season but he was also a 7th! year senior and those guys normally regress
Yonger was never leaving his support system in Ames. He is very close with Echemendia and they have always wanted to finish their careers together. I’m sure Taylor was after Yonger, but with the Cubans, loyalty is a major thing. Also, not sure Casey was the best person to try recruiting the Cubans eitherI think we have been a favorite for Rocco for long time until PSU got in and got him in last min. Same for Jayden James. I am hearing ISU ponied up and paid Bastida who was in talks with DT too.
Lots of misses recently. I'm sure DT will land some studs for sure, but we maybe struggling with NIL department.
It's easy to say this when he tweeted. I wonder if you would have said this last night. Remember what ASU guys tweeted before moving to Iowa or Rocco tweeted before moving to PSU? Lol. But anyway, better ISU is good for Big 12. So I am not sad.Yonger was never leaving his support system in Ames. I don’t disagree with the ASU guys or Rocco. I’m just saying it’s a bit different for Yonger with the Cuban support system he has in Ames with Ech, Osmany, Reineri, and a couple of the coaches that he’s close with. Money does talk, but with the Cubans, that support staff and loyalty means a lot from where they came fromIt's easy to say this when he tweeted. I wonder if you would have said this last night. More annoyed at PSU.
Not yetSo is it final with Rocco? Has it been officially announced?
The report was that he canceled his meeting with DT, so as fans at least we can mentally move onSo is it final with Rocco? Has it been officially announced?
I'm guessing his postseason has cooled Iowa on him. It felt like all but a done deal at one point. So he still going to Iowa or…?
I thought it was…I'm guessing his postseason has cooled Iowa on him. It felt like all but a done deal at one point.
On the same page. Have absolutely no problem seeing Jamison making an easy jump to 49, but Sprately appears to have the body type of a 125er.I’ve always thought of Spratley as a career 125er. He struggled with longer guys who cut from 133 (see: Strickenberger). Don’t know if he’d be as effective as he is at 125.
What does this even mean?
What does this even mean?
I took it to mean he's leaving/entering the portal. If they had their pick, would Iowa take Figs with 1 year or Volk with 2?What does this even mean?
Maybe it is my lack of following Big X, but him over Volk or Figs?
No idea but we allegedly offered Swiderski and Facundo $200k each.Anyone have a clue how much we have to spend in NIL per year?
I know the rev/profit share funds that DT thought were going to be allocated to wrestling are way less than he thought or than he was led to believe.Anyone have a clue how much we have to spend in NIL per year?
