Far worse and here’s the difference: Obama’s campaign paid fines for missing reporting deadlines and other clerical errors that many national campaigns (R&D) have paid over the years. It’s the FEC’s version of a wrist-slap to say, “Don’t make us track you down. File your reports on time, dammit!”

Cohen got almost $1M in fines for various bs including his taxi biz and 36 months for admitting he arranged the payments to two women to “prevent the negative publicity of their affairs from affecting the 2016 election.” Mueller and the FBI have the tape recording. Everyone’s heard it. That’s conspiracy to commit election fraud to get someone elected.

The third human witness to the illegal attempt to affect the election was whoever authorized the release of that money from the Trump Co. to Cohen. This info was also released by the SDNY after the sentencing Tuesday. This kind of info cannot be divulged by the Feds in a court filing unless they can prove it, so there’s more to come.

By releasing that info in the statement about AMI and their cooperation/non-prosecution agreement, the Feds are saying to the judge they know who the third person is and that they will be bringing this person to court or entering into an agreement with them in the near future.

Since the T Company is tiny, there are only five people who could have authorized the payment: djt is already an unindicted co-conspirator; Allen Weiselberg (pardon my spelling) the cfo since 1974 and who has prepared all of Trumps income tax returns, but he is already cooperating with Mueller, the SDNY, the NY State Atty Gen, the NYC well, every govt agency in NY wants a piece of his ass (and he’s said he’s ready to give it up) so it can’t be him; that leaves only Junior, Eric or Ivanka. One or two of the three or all of them will end up pleading guilty. By then, they’ll also face jail time for the scam known as the Trump Foundation.

It’s just one drop in a 5-gallon bucket that will prolly overflow in 2019. It’s nowhere near collusion and it’s not supposed to be. Mueller is slowly boxing Trump in. He’s plucking out all of Donald’s lieutenants and he’s already running out of places to turn. Trump’s eventual choice will be whether to risk dying penniless in a Federal pen or fleeing prosecution overseas and risk being poisoned by Putin in some one-star hotel in Kazakhstan.

So she flies all the nra bigwigs to Russia and introduces them to a couple of Putin’s money-bag guys. The nra had spent $13M on Romney’s run. The most ever. Then they spent more than $30M on djt from a fund they set up so they can legally withhold the names of the donors.

So, if I (hypothetically) am a wealthy entrepreneur who is facing a number of lawsuits, which are mostly frivolous and all of which I and our counsel believes we would prevail in, and I am running for President, if I tell my counsel to settle all the lawsuits to “clear the decks” to avoid distractions during the campaign then that’s a campaign expenditure?

To clarify, I'm not saying that isn't the real reason. I think there is a very good chance that the president violated the law. However, I do think they can argue the point, and maybe even successfully, that that is just the way her personally operates.

Trump and Cohen were trying to hide that the candidate was paying off the porn star. That’s why they structured the payments so that Cohen would be making them and would only later get reimbursed by Trump or his organization. If Trump had just paid Daniels directly, it wouldn’t have been a crime at all.

I definitely won't argue with that point other than to say that neither you nor anyone alive today was there to observe any unique human interactions or relationships that potentially occurred within the disgusting framework of human slavery that existed at the time. Obviously not defending the institution or even Jefferson other than to point out that you don't know for sure what the dynamic was and neither do I.

I know that the slave was legally owned by Jefferson and therefore incapable of providing consent to sex with Jefferson.

I know if my daughter was kidnapped and impregnated, I wouldn't need to know the "dynamic" to call that a rape.

Legal authority does not imply an absolute in action. Come on dude. There are numerous cases of slaves being treated well. He could have brought her flowers and given her back rubs. He could have respected her wishes when she had a headache.

Slavery, like most things liberals try to talk about was/is more complex than the common historical stereotypes.
