Here's some more "conservative think tank BS" -- http://observer.com/2016/07/no-decent-person-ever-said-black-lives-dont-matter/

OK, I lied it isn't from a think tank.

I especially like this portion:

"In the wake of the Dallas slaughter, community and civic leaders, especially the exceptional Dallas Chief of Police David Brown, provided first decisive then reassuring and unifying leadership.

Chief Brown gets credit for decisive leadership in crisis: He saw good men murdered in a sophisticated ambush. The sniper occupied a fortified position and promised to fight to the death. So Chief Brown gave the order to kill the sniper using a bomb delivered by an unmanned ground vehicle. No more good guys were at risk. The bomb limited collateral damage—Dallas wouldn’t repeat Philadelphia’s 1985 mistake when a police helicopter dropped a bomb on a bunkered position occupied by an armed black militants shooting at police. The bomb caused a fire and destroyed over 60 homes.

In Ferguson 2014 and Baltimore 2015, violence continued unabated.

Leaders in Ferguson and Baltimore were confused, lacked decisiveness and feared their own people. They also feared the accusation of racism and fascism from radical activists. If anything, they magnified a highly questionable yet fashionable media narrative, that police in America kill young black American men at statistically heinous rates. (They don’t, but major media have been slow to recognize the fact.)

In Dallas, however, there is sadness, not riot. The language of Dallas’ civic leaders has been somber and reflective. A somber, reflective peace has settled on Dallas.

The opening minutes of the July 8 press conference conducted by Mayor Mike Rawlings and Chief Brown are illustrative."

Some of our other so-called leaders could learn a lesson or two from Chief Brown.

Since the 52+ stops seemed insane, I looked around a bit more for info in his area.

"In 2001, a study commissioned by the Minnesota State Legislature examined data from 65 Minnesota law enforcement jurisdictions and found that in Twin Cities suburbs like (but not including) Falcon Heights, black drivers like Castile were stopped 310 percent more frequently than expected. Though white drivers were pulled over much less often, they were more likely to be caught with contraband in their cars once stopped. Bonnie Kristian"

So, institutional racism is just in the history books?
SMH...

If you consider profiling to be racism, probably not. If you had a bank of 8 slot machines (7 blue, one orange) and you knew the orange one paid out 8 times more often than any of the blue ones. Which one would you jam quarters into? Assuming you were the kind of person who plays slots, which I doubt. Isn't that simply playing the odds? Does it have to be racism? Maybe it does. I don't know.
Actually if you read this you see that the Blues pay out at a higher rate but for some reason people gotta yank the arm of the Orange one until it falls off.

Am I the only one who finds this ironic?

Can you point to some ad hominen attacks I've made? I'm certainly not suggesting I've never done it, I don't believe anyone could truly say that.

I certainly don't run around spouting "lol, You're an idiot" or "of course they do, fool!" without ever offering the least bit of a rationale for why the arguing opposition is wrong or without even attempting to engage the opposite person's argument.

Lol BS

BTW: I am as guilty as anyone on this front, just try not to complain when I get it back at me...
I wasn't complaining, not really. Just identifying it. I was trying to coax him into an actual debate.

And BTW, NEITHER ONE of those quotes are from me. You're mistaken or purposely trying to be deceitful. Probably mistaken, I assume.

I believe the 1st one was from medic and the 2nd squeak.

The second one was mine, but I wasn't calling Clinton crazy. I was pointing out how bad it would look if we took away each vet's 2nd amendment right until he or she passes a test to prove he or she doesn't have PTSD.

The veteran suicide rate is 50 percent more than nonvets. It isn't just that - we are AWFUL at providing them necessary healthcare, so I'm sure that speeds up some's decisions.....

And the Hillary plan seems to be more of the Obama plan, which is to allow the VA to continue to be a cesspool of bureaucracy, waste, and lack of accountability, but yet you'll vote for her.

The VA is the perfect example of why people in this country don't want government healthcare as their only option.

Quite probably. However, I think that's a function of turning municipal police into a revenue center for the city as opposed to their primary safety function.
With many getting their funding cut for this, that, and the other...can't say I blame that rationale.
