Why is it a good thing to kneel while praying (in an Episcopalian church for example), but a bad thing to kneel during the National Anthem?
If CK had claimed to be kneeling because he felt it was more respectful than standing (rather than making his kneeling political) would any of you take issue with his choice?
In other words. Does the kneeling offend you, or is it the reason he gave for the kneeling?

At the same time, the 1st Amendment doesn’t protect only effective, non-controversial means of protest.
At the same time, if the NFL as a private employer wants to prohibit these protests on “company time” or not hire CK because it’s not worth the time or trouble to have him on your team because of his protests...I’m perfectly good with that.

Absolutely. I don’t think anyone that I have heard has said one thing about Jehovah witnesses not standing. It’s all about the reason.
How do you know what the reason is? What business is it of yours? Do we have thought police now? What’s the crime to arrest and have citizenship revoked? Who makes that arrest? Commander in Chief?

I ask because I think CK's narrative has changed (softened) since his initial episode of kneeling. I contend that the majority of players currently wanting to kneel are doing so as a peaceful protest rather than conveying the more militant rebellious message CK initially espoused.
Probably because they are such a small group I bet the majority of the country has no idea they or that reason exists.
Trump has jailed no one. No charges. No fines. Just tough talk reality tv talk. He is defending their right to say it because he has given congress no legislation to pass saying it’s illegal. No executive order. They are still free, despite the president giving his personal opinion to kneel, burn or piss on the flag.

So them not complaining about Jehovah’s Witnesses not standing is because they don’t know about them rather than not having a problem with their reasons for not standing.
