I remember sitting in a bar in Phoenix, Arizona, watching as Jimmy Carter told the world he got some of his foreign policy advice from his daughter, Amy. Wasn’t she in high school at the time? I wonder if this analysis comes from Amy, too.

Carters authority as President was undermined by Reagan and his team. They had a secret backchannel with the Iranians asking them to not let the hostages go until Reagan took office. Beside Nixon’s backchannel with the Chinese and Vietnamese, Trumps with the Russians it is one of the most egregious violations we have seen of the Hatch act. Now laugh it off. I expect nothing less.
