I was triggered to remember reading Hannah Arendt’s *The Banality of Evil* as Fauci was coming into prominence. IMO it’s a book that every person should read in the course of their lives, the younger into adulthood the better. Another thought on this subject: one need look no further than that obsequious little bureaucrat, Merrick Garland, than to recognize an Adolf Eichmann clone in the making. This should concern every American, even those who despise all things MAGA, because it lays the groundwork for an authoritarian to take control regardless of which team he springs from. I am truly baffled how willing some people are to have our country slip into a totalitarian state just as long as it's their team that is the totalitarian.
