Olejnik won 10 to 1, pretty dominant with 3 takedowns and lots of riding time.
I also recall him committing to us, and then uncommitting and taking a break from wrestling only to recommit 🤷♂️
Which is why I said what I said…he’s a complicated individual. According to media availability, Williams didn’t go due a mild hamstring injury. Maybe he thought he was ready to go. Smith thought otherwise
Thompson beat the 1st team 165 4 to 1 with a takedown in overtime.
Plott wins 4 to 2 with a reshot takedown. Lots of tough defense by Plott against Munoz.
Munoz is tough. Plott making the counter shot for the win. The face Munoz beat Truex is pretty impressive.
Surber wins with a scramble takedown off of his opponents shot in over time. He won but not very impressive.
Wouldn't it be better to support the team?
Hard to believe that Konnor won 2 to 1 with riding out the Oregon State wrestler in the 30 second overtimes.

You could tell he’s still banged up pretty bad.
To me, it appeared the plan coming into the dual was for Williams to go. The plan changed after the dual started.

I'm glad they gutted out some wins but it was a lackluster effort by most of our wrestlers. Our first two freshmen have to learn to bring it every match.

How good was the win for Thompson? Looks like he beat the #12 165. Trying to get a feel for that.
I think he’s earned a lot of credit for what he has done so far. While also noting he needs to be more aggressive and I’m worried about his stamina. Honestly thought he didn’t have a chance in OT with how tired he looked but he got it.
He was crazy gassed. He looked like he was melting as he walked back to the room.
I hate that we are to the point where that’s a nice crowd. I want it full so damn bad

I’m with ya. I feel Sammy gives the team the best chance of contributing points in duals and tournaments this season at 49. That said, Sammy is here for one year, and Jordan is a huge factor for the team going forward with his freakish potential. It’s a delicate balance. Here’s hoping they both keep pushing each other and Jordan trusts the process and comes out better for it in the end. Was pleased Jordan came back out after his frustration to join the team on the bench.
If the plan was for him to go bc he was the better wrestler and gave us the best chance of winning then he would have. Coaches obviously have more confidence in Alvarez right now. And the way Williams responded probably left him in the dust.
He came back to the bench…after the talking. Even partook in the handshaking line
John’s comments about his injury and how he basically needs to toughen up reminded me of the scene from Miracle where Herb calls Mac a candy a$$ and that a bruise on the leg is a long way from the heart.
looks like Jamison losing influenced the decision at 149 according the press conference…boy he was not happy with Jamison performance
Oregon came to wrestle tonight. OKState squeaked out a few wins that could have gone either way. I’m glad they won though. Go pokes
He is at 174 now and had 2 wins over Griffith of Stanford last year so we didn’t do much but a good win against a 5 th year kid
Jamison was lost out there. His opponent went to his knees and Jamison had no clue what to do. Frustrating I get but doesn’t mean you stop wrestling.
Oregon came to wrestle 3 total on the night eight weights with no takedown they tryed to keep matches close This
Exactly this. We didn’t dominate but Spratley and Surber were the only takedowns right?
