not sure where to add this, so I'll do it here. It seems pretty amazing as it looks to me, a casual but serious wrestling fan, how much better we look with new coaching. Everything seems to be better. Not that JS was a poor coach, but maybe got left behind in many areas and was too set in his ways to adapt. Who knows. Anyway, what a difference the program has evolved to with the new coach. That's what it looks like anyway. Glad to see things turn.

We need the same change in football and baseball.

He hasn’t wrestled anyone of note. And, the competition at 74 is much different. Most great heavyweight athletes are playing football. Your simple analysis of wrestling is simple minded.

Okie State has the oldest team in the history of college wrestling - I think it’s six 6 year seniors. And 7-8 of them are portal guys.

Neither of these are true. OSU has only 2 sixth year seniors. See below for one oldest team comp. OSU has 5 portals with two guys taking curcuitious routes to start their college careers at OSU (Jamison and Young). For current comparisons, ou is starting 8 portal transfers and this year Iowa is also starting 5 portal or grad transfers.

Doesn't it seem like Hamiti ought to get another year? All these others getting chance at 5 AAs, 7 yr seniors etc. Hamiti did it the right way in 4 years. Let's give him a bonus year. Who's with me?

Well, we both know that’s not true. I said Hamiti was your best wrestler and most likely finalist and Spratley was the second most likely to reach the finals. Go find it. OSU loyalist didn’t like the sentiment that a transfer was their best wrestler and the attack began. I followed with Iowa’s best wrestlers are also transfers — Caliendo and Buchanan.
