When do we normally release the schedule? Summer right?

Assumptions:

OU at home
Mizzou on the road
Virginia Tech on the road
Iowa at home
Iowa State at home
Northern Iowa at home
National Duals in Tulsa on November 15-16
Arizona State on the road

Do we still go to CKLV now with National Duals in November?

I’d kinda like to see us wrestle Northern Colorado with UNC still having Poulin, Serrano and Zerban.

Would love to see us have a series with Nebraska or Ohio State.

I know it’s helpful to UALR for them to wrestle us but I’d probably want to pass since they lost Nasir and Jordan. I guess they still have Bianchi at 157 and Little at 197.

I'm interested to see how DT approaches the schedule. I would assume last year's was mostly set before he took over (could be wrong). Cael doesn't really like to push his team too hard in the regular season. You can't argue with the results. Not very fun for the fans though.

I think utilizing redshirts better is a middle ground option. Wrestle more but spread the load out. Seeing younger guys or backups is good for the program and the fans. I would love to see a 4 year room guy have a go in a dual. Outside of 3-4 programs we could easily afford this without risking a loss. It seems an obvious solution to me, but I get how Cael does it.

Exactly!

@Pennstate1985 warned us of this plenty. Hopefully, we get to watch some great young talent with a great schedule!

Yes! Also like to watch the redshirts wrestle.

I could see the Scuffle gaining some relevance again under the new rules. PSU sent 9 RSFR and backups to the Scuffle last year and I think they took second. It would be nice to see more teams take advantage of the more lax rules on competition. We also had a number of guys wrestle during the season.

why was Minnesota removed from our schedule? It seems like we have wrestled them every year for the last 30 years until this year....

Would be cool to see a solid team who we never wrestle like Cornell on our schedule
Wonder if there are hard feelings related to guys transferring from Minny to OSU.

It has been a great rivalry. My guess is, more on their side than OSU. OSU hasn’t been afraid to wrestle any time, anywhere.

The B1G is such a grind, maybe they wanted more of a breather than another dual with OSU getting beat my former Minny guys.

You are correct in your assessment.

Good for the Team and bad for the fans doesn't seem like a good long term strategy.

No one pushed competitive duals harder than John Smith, believing it was good for fans and would grow the sport. It does seem like a divergent philosophy from Cael’s approach.
