HS Recruiting News

I don't see Jude getting to 235 being an issue. He's damn good he beat up a 270lb Sahakian who will be Michigan's HWT down the road
Kid can wrestle no doubt but theres a reason Michigan brought in the bigger guy. Its rare that you see smaller heavies at the top. If we see another few years with really big heavies like when we had Gable, Parris, Big Cass, Kerk, Schultz, Wood, the smaller guys will struggle. There will be some exceptions but the bigger/taller guys winning is the rule.

It’s the first weekend of Thanksgiving break. Lots of kids will be leaving town Friday. Hope it doesn’t hurt wrestling attendance.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I expect maybe a slightly bigger crowd than what we would typically see on a Friday night in Nov. against Wyoming.

If that’s all that shows up then it’ll be a colossal failure by our fanbase. 1st dual or the DT era with a loaded team of AA’s and the biggest recruiting weekend of the year. We’ll deserve whatever the fallout is.

ahh .. the first dual of the DT era was Utah Valley, there was crowd up to the rafters, course it was also the first dual of the Hall era. :)

I hope I’m wrong. I’m just guessing. Our crowds tend to be good so I don’t think it is a disaster.

When one ticket gets you into both duals it doesn’t sound like they are expecting a sell out or anything.

I think DT is but the ticket office is stuck trying like hell.

Bo Bassett today:
This weekend we are heading out to Oklahoma State. I am really excited to see Stillwater and see the new vision for their program. OK State has some serious wrestling tradition over the years and I am pumped to see their wrestling atmosphere. I hope I get a chance to scrap with Daton Fix and RBY when we are out there. I also plan to catch up with Ladarion Lockett as well. Friday we attend their first home match vs Wyoming, then Saturday a football game vs Texas Tech and Sunday another match vs Arizona State. This will be the last visit until late January. Then anymore I want to check out will have to be in the spring after states.

I thought it was interesting how Bo sat with his dad most the match and not the other recruits (row behind them anyway). At least the second half was when I realized it. He also seemed way more into each match than the others. Same with Dee.
Sounds like to me that he is super focused on the decision he has in front of him and is taking it very seriously. I read somewhere that this would be his last visit, unless he decides to make a visit somewhere after the wrestling season. Love the picture that Mineo posted of all of them in the wrestling room. That could be one hell of a lineup!

I also seen that Stillwater wrestler Ayden Thomas committed to Northern Colorado. That is a good fit for him with a redshirt next year and to be able to roll around with Poulin and Serrano and then step into either 125 or 133 for them the year after.

He has one more visit lined up in Jan to Rutgers. Then he will wait until after the season to schedule more
