I'm hoping for non-partisan discussion. Just from a technical perspective, it seems like something like 40% of those who identify as mostly conservative love him and the other 60% really don't like him. Throw in the Dems view of him and it seems like his favorability in a general election would be very low.

The only caveats that I can come up with that might put him in a position of winning the general election are:
  • Bernie supports are in a lot of cases, anti-Hillary and could stay home
  • Democrats don't show up to vote in the same percentages as the Republicans.
  • Hillary could in fact be indicted, although I don't see that happening

Does anyone see any path for Trump in which he could actually win the election?

Has Trump Support hit hard ceiling? - YES. I don't think anywhere near 40% of conservatives nationwide love him

Does anyone see any path for Trump in which he could actually win the election? - NO.

Still a long way to go....he made some really bush league mistakes last week, but all that will be cured with a NY win.

I think that hildabeast will be indicted, was reading this morning about the Romainian hacker who is on US soil and was the one who hacked blumenthals account. This Sydney appears to be her Rasputin and "Guicifer (so)" is making a deal with the FBI, would bet cup pies life in it. Passing on any secrets to that shit hook Blumenthal will be her demise.

Not a big Trump fan and originally liked Cruz, but he is turning into a short termed prostituite for those trying to blow Trumpster out of the water without much regard for what would really happen if he were elected.

Trump won't win because conservatives do or don't like him. He will win (if that happens) because middle class d's, r's and independents see him as the guy who can implode the system and start enforcing better trade deals, making it more difficult for ILLEGAL BORDER JUMPING CRIMINAL SCUMBAGS to come here and stay and bring back jobs that the middle class can latch on to and start prospering again.

Not sure why anyone would care what the hardcore conservatives think anyway, they, for the most part, have been supporting all these faux conservatives for quite sometime.

he's a smart guy and hasn't had to be a politician as of yet. Now that he is at a point where he will have to make the monkey dance it will be interesting if he will do it. I think there are still a lot of route changes for him as he finds a new path through all this mediocrity. I really don't see one candidate that looks worthy of winning this ball of wax, and it's become pretty evident that anyone with a lick of sense would not run for president. Why Trump is doing it is overwhelming...must be for power is all I can think of. There is no way he can correct the years of corruptness but it's good he's at least talking about it and that's where it starts. I don't care for him but I've seen no reason to "not" vote for him!

I spoke with a middle age black woman and a middle age Latino this week and both of them said basically this. Both were quite passionate for Trump.

HilRod could run a campaign from Leavenworth in an orange pantsuit and still kick Donald's ass

And yes, we know CCup. She could be a convicted child rapist murderer and your type would vote for her. Your type has no moral compass. You do as the party instructs. You'd love life in North Korea.

I think the chances of Hillary being indicted and Trump being the next President are about equal....somewhere close to zero.
