Update
I swear I read the totals the way I posted them but in reality there was a plus 200k turnout in favor of the repubs.

So it may be oh boy for the dems in November.

The Democrat nominee for govenor is a far left Bernie Sanders socialist.

Democratic voters also outvoted Republicans 2-1. 3 million to 1.5.

November, oh boy.

Comparing primary vote counts is nearly meaningless. If there is a competitive race on one side but not the other, turnout would certainly be affected. A socialist is probably not good news for Dems in a general. It’s like some of the crazies the Rs put up in 2010.

Yeh, the Republican race was basically Scott running unopposed. The vote count comparison is garbage. It actually says more about how fractured and disfunctional the left is right now.

The Democratic race was basically Nelson running unopposed.

This scares me. I said it in another thread, but Gillum's ad sells. Very Obama-ish "hope and change" feel for him. He plays very different than the 'bought and sold corporate politicians" and that will win him votes.

I don't see where dems out voted repubs ... In the governor's race 1.5 m dems voted while 1.61 m repubs voted. Looks like more repubs than dems to me. In fact looking at every race where both sides had a primary all but 1 or 2 had more repubs voting....

Now that does not mean anything when it comes to November but I thought the demsDems supposed to be the ones all revved up to vote.

I see the same things on the NYTimes site. 1.5M Dems vs. 1.6M Repubs. So this is good news for the Repubs, but not an end-all indicator, as Florida has a closed primary system so 3.5M registered voters couldn't vote for either side in these primaries. (I'm one of them for example, as I'm registered Libertarian). That leaves a lot of voters to be persuaded to one side or the other come November.

If the majority of voters in Florida can be convinced to vote for a socialist then we are all in trouble imo.

When the candidate lacks any significant political baggage and is running against an individual who embodies the political swamp, the underlying message of the candidates can get lost. And given that you really only have to persuade the 5% in the middle, many of which are completely disenfranchised with politics in general, and you have a recipe for a smooth-talking socialist to win. What will be interesting is whether he continues to have Bernie stump for him. I think Bernie actually hurts him in regards to the general election, as it ties him back to the national "Dem" brand rather than keeping the focus on himself as an individual. He doesn't need Bernie in order to get the Bernie voters to vote for him, but he does need the 'outsider' label.

Totally off topic, but what part of Florida do you live?

Hope Florida voters don't monkey it up and vote for the Dem.

Are you being a piece of shit here?
Bc...it looks like you are being a piece of shit.

I'm going to go ahead and assume you are being a piece of shit.

You too @Been Jammin ?

Is that ****ing funny?

It's the epitome of a "piece of shit" the way alleged grown ass men or women who lean left are so lackadaisical and fundamentally dishonest around such a sensitive topic.

I've long resisted and rolled my eyes when I see the oft-used phrase "liberals are pieces of shit," as I always hold out hope that MOST of you have an additional level of depth you're just a few years of maturity from. But now I'm pretty much to the point that you all are pieces of shit, with a few exceptions, as it is an accurate description.

Your actions and words betray your shallow, simple thoughts. From such a person, there is little of value to expect.

Wesley Chapel, just north of Tampa.

You are not that far from me, then. I am in Spring Hill. We like going to the outlet mall near you guys (well, really for Chuy's). There used to be an OSU watch party in Tampa, but that seemed to go away 2 years ago.

Wow. Just wow.

I'm not even going to respond to that, as I'm not sure what exactly set you off, in this particular case. But, I would suggest that you contact your physician and have a discussion regarding he/she calling in some Xanax.

I will say that I get it. I have been strongly considering a 24/7 vacation (possibly permanent) because there are a handful of posters who I really can't stand on this forum, but I really like when I read their posts on the Corral or Sutton Court. I much prefer to like them and enjoy reading what they have to say, and to think of them in a positive light. You are one of them.

You got me. One piece of shit signing in. You must sleep like a baby.

I sleep fine because I always allow for the possibility of being incorrect; it serves as an edifying feedback loop that prompts me, as a basic matter of moving through life and not being an asshole, to not live beyond myself...

Something that absolutely cannot be said for all you mind readers on the left.

As such, yeah, i'm persuaded that your feckless posting of something like that as some form of proof or even implication that that guy is racist, is a fuking burden on society.

Your way of interpreting things introduces a far greater cost than your virtue signaling self would believe, making you the exact opposite of being your brothers keeper.

The “monkey up”comment played up by the media is absolutely disgusting. Anyone with half a pea for a brain realizes this was not remotely a racial comment. But sadly CNN has currently on the front page of their website a headline “GOP Nominee: Voting for black rival would “monkey this up”. If anyone does not concede that CNN is fake news now I don’t know what will convince them.

The media and the far left’s race-baiting knows no bounds. I think many people now feel like Jim Brown does about Trump. He is so tired of the faux anger, misapplied statements, and fake stories that he roots for Trump. I know nothing about the two candidates in Florida (other than the socialist candidate has potential corruption charges associated with him as Mayor of Tallahassee) but now I am 100% behind DeSantis.

Do you read minds? How does anyone know what DeSantis meant, or why he chose those words. It isn’t like it is a common figure of speach. I’m not saying he is a racist, or that he thought he was being clever. I’m not saying anything other than that it was a strange choice of words, and that none of us knows why he chose them.https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/monkey

Spoken like a grown up.

Spoken like an overly self-indulgent child.

Okay, I really didn’t think you remotely thought DeSantis projected the word “monkey” toward the Tallahassee mayor (even though the quote was clearly aimed at ideology). I assumed you were just making a joke. It is beyond my scope of thought to immediately go after and even consider normal talk to be racist. That is a HUGE problem. Not with me, but with you and others that try to tie everything to racial terms.

It's a big, fking problem.
