92kg - Bronze Medal Match - David Taylor VS Kamran Ghasempour (IRI)

Taylor is wearing a red singlet, and Ghasempour is wearing a bluish-black singlet with blue leg strips. The announcer said Taylor is 33 & Ghasempour is 26. The announcer said DT is a 3X world champ & Olympic gold medalist out of Oklahoma.

Period 1:
Here we go. Head slapping & hand fighting. DT gets poked in the eye & has a contact issue. It's resolved quickly & we're back to action. Tying up & circling, Ghasempour reaches for a leg, nothing & back to the tie up. Passivity warning DT, restart, 5:14 left. Tying up & circling, Ghasempour coming forward a little, stoppage & passivity warning on Ghasempour, restart, 4:44. Circling, Ghasempour shoots, DT counters & they're back to neutral. Circling, Ghasempour coming forward a little, then he gets hit with another passivity warning & goes on the clock. Ghasempour shoots a single, switches to a double & gets a TD, 2-0, shot clock turned off, restart, 3:45 left. Tying up & circling, DT shoots, Ghasempour with a chest wrap & it's a stalemate, restart. More circling & hand fighting as the period ends. 2-0 Ghasempour.

Period 2:
Back to action. DT shoots off the whistle, but Ghasempour evades. DT drives forward & tries a double leg, but Ghasempour fights him off. DT hits a quick double for a TD, 2-2, adv. DT, restart, 2:23 left. DT with a slick shot off the whistle & gets another TD, 4-2, restart, 2:07 left. Tying up & pushing & they break. Right back to the tie up & hand fighting & pushing, 1:20 left. The action has slowed a bit now. Ghasempour shoots, DT counters & Ghasempour backs out, no luck for either & they're back to neutral, 45-sec left. Tying up, Ghasempour shoots, nothing. Ghasempour shoots again, but DT blocks him off. Ghasempour getting more aggressive now & picking up the pace, he shoots again, nothing & again, but DT counters & gets another TD, 6-2 & that's how it ends.

That man is full blast competitive and those shoes will never come off.
 
I'm completely speculating here but I don't know how long David has to accept his Final X spot next year but imagine he won't decline it immediately (could be wrong though, maybe he just wants closure)

He's likely on a crash course with Aaron Brooks in that event. You KNOW he wants those matches back. I can see him wrestling that to try to sweep the matches then he'll be done and he can say "You can have the spot, I'm just giving it to you though, just know who's still ahead" Just a power move obviously.

This somewhat mirrors Gable wrestling the US Open and Final X to beat Mason Parris and then decline the World Spot but he just wanted to show him who was boss still after hearing about some saying the gap closing between him and Parris.

I lean DT doesn't care that much with everything else he has going on and he obviously doesn't want to compete if he's not fully committing to it but still ... the door is open.
