Did Hendrickson just have the best individual season in OSU wrestling history? NCAA history?
Undefeated, bonus point machine conference championship, pins first 3 in NCAA tournament, beats defending national champ in semis and then beats a 2x champ and Olympic Gold medalist to win the national title!!!!!!

And it wasn’t just that he did it, it was HOW he did it. For those OSU fans who missed that, you missed what may be the greatest OSU sports moment in maybe decades.
Two senior transfers win national titles.. portal is about to flood to DT.
Greatest individual accomplishment by a Cowboy wrestler I have ever seen. I was proud of him for keeping it close, every shot he took it was close to Steveson scoring. He kept in range to the end of the match and got his best shot and Steveson fought it but Wyatt stuck with him with power and finally Gable gave in and went down hard. Gable tried with all his strength to stand up but somehow Wyatt battled and forced him down again. Wyatt will be cemented in history as 1 of the greatest upsets of all time right there with Owings beating the other Gable. Great night! This should tell elite wrestlers that they should come to Stillwater because Dean and Wyatt are elite but never won until they came to Stillwater. All these great high school wrestlers will remember number 1 about Nationals is Cowboy Wyatt beat Steveson.
Had to be like watching Shelton vs Dr.Death but even better with a title on the line.
Someone smarter at wrestling breakdowns tell me: did Steveson not expect Wyatt to be as aggressive as he was or what happened? Seemed like Wyatt may just have had more of a gas tank at the end

My family ran up stairs because they thought I was having a heart attack. That was unreal. Instant classic and legendary. David vs. Goliath as Wyatt stated.
Gable was -700 on DK to win it all when it started. I think Wyatt closed around +900
That may have been the absolute most badass thing outside of actual combat (videos since I didnt serve) I have ever seen.
My wife and I were screaming at the TV in our hotel room in the French Quarter. I wonder if they heard us on Bourbon Street?
Wyatt deserves the Hodge, probably Mess but it should honestly be Wyatt for the season and who he has to beat

Just got home from a fundraiser dinner and saw the results. OMG, I am one happy old fart. Saw Spratley's match and was thinking oh shit. For those in Philly congrats watching this unfold. I saw the crowd eruption with Hendrickson. Good things ahead for OSU wrestling.
NO ONE in the history of college wrestling has done what Wyatt just did.
Disagree. Uetake didn't get an offensive point scored against him one year and won the title with a dislocated shoulder. Probably the single best wrestler ever at OSU.
You could just see the focus, belief and drive that Wyatt had all season. In the way he talked and wrestled. I'm surprised that he won, but also not.

We all knew we weren't catching Penn State this year, Nebraska was on crack, however, my personal goal was to beat these d!ckheads from Iowa. I'm over the Brands Bros and the attitude they have.

FWIW, Spratley got screwed imo. Guy gets hit with a stall with 30 seconds left in the 2nd....To only get ONE in the 3rd? There's no f*cking way he did enough to not get hit with 2-3....The faints and pretend engaging really needs to be addressed because OSU is ALWAYS the one who loses because of it.
Took 9 (one who wrestled once all year), had Fish, Amine, Plott, Spratley, Hamiti, Hendrickson all AA with two winners, def wouldn't have thought of it based on how we finished last year.
Our lighter weights all have chances to be high AAs next year, hope Spratley really becomes dominant!

It appeared that a large majority of the crowd was cheering for Wyatt.
